Mousepaw poured out of the apprentice's den into the clearing with the other cats as they gathered around the Highrock to listen to what Froststar has to say. "Cats of my clan, we have gathered here today to speak about what has happened in GorseClan. Mudtail has brought us news that they have a shortage of water to drink in their territory, and they have asked for access to our pond until their supply of fresh water is back."
"We can't let another clan come into our territory, they might raid us!" Stonepelt yelled.
"You don't know that!" Mudtail had spat.
"Silence!" Froststar yelled as Stonepelt shrank back in his spot.
"I allow Gorseclan to have access to our pond, but no further. If one of my warriors or apprentices catch a Gorseclan member walking past the pond, they have permission to question they as to what they are doing." Froststar said to Mudtail.
"Thank you Frostclan. Gorseclan thanks you for this.

Mudtail turned to leave the camp when Mousepaw heard his mentor say "And we'll watch your clan very closely!" at Mudtail. "If you want to stalk us!" Mudtail retorted. Mousepaw knew that Silverfur liked Mudtail, but never told anyone but Petalpaw. Petalpaw was Mousepaw's best friend because they were born a half moon apart and mostly because they're mothers are friends. Petalpaw is a light brown she-cat with white paws and light ginger colored tail and ears. "Froststar said we're gonna get our warriors ceremony tomorrow! Silverfur and Sunfur were talking to Froststar at almost the same time, so she's gonna do the ceremony at the same time!"

The Next Day
Petalpaw and Mousepaw's warrior ceremony was beginning. They both stood next to each other proudly on top of the Highrock, noses high in the air, as Froststar called,
"Let all cats who can catch their own prey gather around the Highrock!"
Once every cat was in the clearing around the Highrock, Froststar announced,
"It is time for Petalpaw and Mousepaw to become warriors. I, Froststar, leader of Frostclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and i commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Petalpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend you clan, even at the cost of you life?"
"I do." Petalpaw said with confidence clearly.
"Then by the powers of Starclan I give you your warrior name. Petalpaw, from this moment you will be known as Petalfur. Starclan honors your strength and confidence, and we welcome you as a full warrior of Frostclan." Froststar proclaimed.
Froststar rested her muzzle on Petalfur's head. The clan chanted Petalfur's new name.
"And now for Mousepaw." Froststar said as she turned to Mousepaw.
"I Froststar, leader of Frostclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and i commend him to you as a warrior in his turn. Mousepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend you clan, even at the cost of you life?"
"I do." Mousepaw's words came out clearly.
"Then by the powers of Starclan I give you your warrior name. Mousepaw, from this moment, you will be known as Mousetail. Starclan honors your agility and confidence, and we welcome you as a full warrior of Frostclan." Froststar proclaimed sounding dull.
The clan chanted both Mousetail and Petalfur's new names, while they padded down from the Highrock when the ceremony was suddenly interrupted by the crash of a boulder.

Blackpool sounded the alarm of a raid on the camp. It was Gorseclan.
"Get the kits and elders to a safe hide-out!" Windpelt yelled. Mousetail could see his mother, Morningfur, pushing the kits of her second litter to a cave where they could hide, watching for any Gorseclan warriors preparing to spring on top of her. Petalfur was attempting to claw the belly of Raintail when another Gorseclan warrior pushed her aside near a cliff.
"You leave her alone!" Mousetail yelled.
He started to claw at the Gorseclan warrior that pushed Petalfur, and that warrior was one of his "friends", (pfft not anymore) Marshclaw.
"How could you do this?! You know I love Petalfur!" Mousetail yelled at Marshclaw.
"I have to do it for my clan!" Marshclaw shouted back.
Petalfur was standing near that arguement, so she heard what Mousetail said.
"You... You... love me?" Petalfur asked Mousetail in shock.
Mousetail never noticed her and froze. That gave Mudtail a chance to knock Mousetail unconcious, but Marshclaw wouldn't let him and took the blow instead. Mousetail saw Marshclaw's unsconcious body laying there, alomst dead. He ran away from the scene trying to take in what happened.
"Mousetail! Wait!" Petalfur screamed while running after Mousetail.
He tripped on a root of a tree, knocking out beside a ledge. He fell unconscious, only hearing Petalfur's horrid screams.

Mousetail woke up in the medicine cat's den, seeing Petalfur sleeping next to him.
"What happened? Where's Marshclaw? Did the battle end?" Mousetail questioned Snowstorm, the Frostclan medicine cat.
"You knocked out next to a tree, falling unconscious, when Petalfur carried you to a den and waited for the battle to be over so she could carry you over here. We won the battle, but Featherclaw has a really big gash on his stomach that won't go away for a few moons. Who's Marshclaw?" Snowstorm asked.
Mousetail looked at Petalfur with a thoughtful look, licking her scratches.
"Marshclaw USED to be my friend, well he is, i dont know! He took a hit for me, but he hurt Petalfur." Mousetail said with confusion and sadness.
"I don't know if you and him- Marshclaw-can be friends for any longer, with the raid and all. I wouldn't sit next to him at the next gathering." Snowstorm told Mousetail.
Mousetail poked Petalfur until she woke up.
"Im waiting for Mousetail to wake up, Snow-- Mousetail! Your not dead! I have to ask you something about what you said at the battle."
Mousetail could feel his stomach swelling up with anxiety from what he knew Petalfur was about to say.
"Do you.. Do you really love me?" Petalfur asked.
"I'll just leave you two in peace..." Snowstorm said with a slight chuckle.
"I....I.. do." Mousetail's voice faltered with dignity.
