Anna slipped the book into her desk as Ms. Silver began class. She taught writing, which had always been one of my favorite subjects. Immediately she began explaining the importance of developing memorable characters in literature, and I smiled to myself. Ms. Silver was the type of person who could get right down to business. I thought I was going to enjoy the class. However, my happiness faded quickly upon realizing the teacher's obvious dislike for me. She avoided my eyes, and cast me annoyed glances when she thought I wasn't looking. I recalled the strange drawings, it was very possible I had seen something I wasn't supposed to. That would explain why she'd looked so angry when she saw that I was early. She had planned to erase the board before anyone else saw it. Why, though? Suddenly, I doubted she was just a high school teacher. I knew better than anyone that there's more to people than meets the eye, and Ms. Silver was hiding something. Exactly what she was hiding I wasn't sure. But I planned to find out. The trill of the bell jolted me out of my thoughts. I grabbed my bag and started towards the door, but before I could join the flow of students going out the door, I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned sharply to see Anna, staring at me with wide eyes. "Lucky, we need to talk." I narrowed my eyes slightly. "Why?" Her answer sent a shiver running down my spine, made me tremble. "I know what happened to your sister."
Finally, things get interesting! I'll write more later.) -
