Boringest. Book. Ever. And yes I am fully aware that boringest is not a word. I am reading the book in english class right now and I hate it. We're the advanced class so we're the only ones reading it. Everyone else gets to read The Diary Of Anne Frank. Of course the one difference between the honors and regular classes all year is reading Huck Finn. Figures.
Your thoughts on the book? -
I actually really enjoyed it. When I was in the honors class that had to read it, we read Huck Finn, and a book on government conspiracies as summer homework before we even started the school year. I think those two assignments were my favorite part of the class.
It's interesting to see older american literature. The book itself is very well written and the characters and accents are dynamic and accurate. Not to mention that it is very well researched and accurately portrays society for the time it was based in.
It actually got me interested in older books. I've got The picture of Dorian Gray sitting on my shelf and am looking forward to it as a summer read. -
I honestly just don't like Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. Both books were well written and historically accurate, but I just didn't enjoy either of them. They both bored me and I found the characters not very enjoyable.

Barberbob- I think the government conspiracies book would be very interresting also, I just don't exactly like Huck Finn. I do agree though that it portrays the time period very well and for that reason it is welll written however. And I do understand how someone might like the book for said reasons, I personally just find modern literature much more interresting and older literature boring.

I really enjoyed the adventures of Huckleberry Fin :( we did a deep analysis on it and we found that even though Huck was a wild child that skipped school and got himself into all sorts of trouble, that he was well educated and that there more to being educated than just going to school due to the fact that he realized by himself that all people are equal and should be treated fairly. I found the book to be suspenseful at times, funny, neat, and really mind opening. if you put yourself into the story you can really feel all the emotions in it. :)

It was okay. It's just after fifteen tests, five three page essays, and millions of in depth worksheets the book gets old quickly.
