So just because I'm 'white' doesn't mean I or my family was apart of slave ownership. >____>
Just something that always bothered me. -
tongue AdvancedI think parts of my mom's family were here before the Civil War, but it is highly unlikely any of them had slaves because we're not from the South.
-
My family came to America before the last Tsar of Russia could force my Great-great grandfather and his eldest sons into the military.
-
smartgirl115 JuniorHmmm...interesting historical backgrounds :-)
-
Some of my family lived in Louisiana and they had black servants during the 70's.
Doesn't mean I do it however. -
tongue AdvancedYea that's probably the most important part of this argument. No one alive today owned black slaves, so there's no point in paying for them, even if your ancestors owned them.
-
Not all Gringos owned slaves, people are so ignorant to think that. >_<
I'm the first generation to come to America lol. -
My family has always lived in the southern states, so it's pretty likely that my ancestors owned slaves. :/
Actually, I don't think anyway in my family has lived farther north than Ohio, except maybe the Native American ones.
Nobody alive in my family today is racist, though. -
That should be "anybody", not anyway. xP
