Why have I always had issues with the Spanish language? This is what happened. .-.
In 3rd grade we had a Spanish class every Friday. At the beginning of the year I was really excited because I knew basic things and I thought it would be a fun class. But the teacher, she was a total b----. She thought I was an idiot because I couldn't pronounce the Spanish words for orange and January right. The others kids, were doing better than me and seemed to fit in more. Ever since that class it's always felt weird to learn Spanish. Dx
It's not that I don't like it, it's just whenever I work with it those memories come back. I hate that. But to be fair almost everything about 3rd grade left a scar on me. 3x -
Screw those kids. Everyone starts at a different pace, I bet they aren't so good in other subjects.
You're not alone with that feeling, Ana. When I began to speak English, all the kids would make fun of me because I had that ridiculous Mexican accent mixed in with a Spanish accent. I was pretty much an outcast while everyone spoke so fluently. That's why I speak Spanish every time I get, now.
Languages aren't always so easy to learn. If, somehow, we could get rid of those memories, then over time, you'll be a great Spanish-speaker. It all takes time. I'm always here if you need any help with that.
And that's no fair of the teacher. They have to be patient, or else, what kind of teacher are they? Obviously not a very good one. Shame on her. .-. If she had taken the time to take you out from class for a while and work with you alone, I'm sure you could have seriously been, like, the best student in class. But no, teachers have to be so b----y sometimes. -__- They obviously don't know a good pupil when they see one. -
Aw Arisu, thank you. Kids can be so cruel, it's not fair. >.> But you give me a lot of motivation, because you are fluent in two languages and had to overcome a lot of s--- during it. I personally really like Spanish and I'm sure I could do better with patinece, heh.
I know, some teachers just aren't real teachers sometimes. I guess she didn't really care whether I learned well or not, kind of not spending any time on what students were having trouble with. You could ruin someone's experience with learning something if you do what she did.
I love language, so I'm not giving up. ^^ -
You're welcome. And yeah, they're just still so ignorant sometimes, they just don't understand other's differences. I'm glad I can give you motivation. Honestly, I think I could be a lot better in speaking the languages, but now that you said that, that makes me feel.. Well, as though I accomplished something. .-. I'm sure you can do the same, but much easier. And of course you can, Spanish is one of the easiest languages to learn, because the words are spelt as they sound! ^^
Yeah, some of them don't give a rat's ass about those who aren't doing as easily. Those are the teachers I hate. To make your class effective, you have to make sure that your students are learning. If some are having difficulty, you have to try and get them to understand the material.
Good for you! :3 -
If you're having trouble, teachers should help you, and kids not make fun of you.
THAT'S WHY YOU'RE IN SCHOOL.
It's also why I love the teachers at my school. Most of them anyway.
