My first language is Irish, which got really f---ed up when we moved permanently to Scotland, since the area we moved to used Scottish gaelic.
So some grammar got confused, by a kind of hybrid of my native and second language?
Then it got worse when I started attending school, and when I was like maybe seven? Irish was completely banned for me at school and they encouraged disuse in the home.
So I'm no longer fluent with my native language, but wouldn't even consider myself fluent I English (( if you look at my posts you'll probabaly be able ti see how awkward I am 😅 ))
I can still hold a conversation in Irish but it's uhhhh kind of all over the place, as my grammar can switch between correct for Irish, to correct for Scottish
Technically I also speak a 4th language, as Scots is its own thing
Tho, while I consider Irish and Scottish gaelic seperate languages, i would say I am bilingual, solely because of similarities and Scots not being useful lmaooo -
U should try duolingo!

I do actually, it's a really good source for re-learning Irish, but jts he'll on earth for first timers
