Well:
From newbie to novice:A day.
From novice to junor:4 months.
from junior to experienced:Arouns 5 months. -
I've been here for years. When I showed up, the highest rank you could get was novice. I came on one day and I was suddenly like 3 ranks higher. Most of the older users are that way.

Yup. One day I was randomly some super high rank like Bobby said.^

novice-junior=6 months
junior-experienced=1 month o.o -
I'm a novice and I'm still to lazy to update. XP
