Don't think I'm asking to be one of you, because I'm not, but how did you become mods? Were you chosen, or can you take a test? I wanna know, because I'm interested, you do your work so well, thank you all for keeping the site safe,

I'm not a mod, but there was a mod election in 2016. Right now, the site won't have another election soon, because there's no need for more mods. As you have noticed, there isn't much activity on the forums but if there seem to be a lot of users on the forums, they might consider adding a mod, which i know isn't going to happen anytime soon.
I don't think that the mods make the mods. It comes from the admin, GTQ guy. -

Like boss baby said, there was an election in 2016. I’m not an old user so I don’t know everything about it, but I know a good chunk of it.
GTQ Guy basically chose the ones that seemed most mature and responsible. Mods cannot make other mods, as I have heard they begged GTQ Guy to make the second newest mod.
