Thread Topic: PSA on sexually explicit content:

I want to see an actual source, not a tumblr link. I'm sorry, but I'm kinda skeptacle. Why limit what we can post here, if there's a way we could just state there's mature content? Should we make libraries illegal? They have romance novels with sex scenes in horribly worded sentences!
-
^ I do agree with that. I don't understand. Like they have stated, if it gets too mature, why do they keep reading it? I mean, if they just hide from recent posts then how would they know, unless they went into the thread. I just guess its what it is.
-
I had another source but I can't find it at the moment. See, I would agree with you- in fact the person in the Tumblr source mentions it doesn't have to be enforced- but the fact is, if a parent comes on and sees that, anyone here can get sued. It counts under child p--- and underaged sex. -
The children could check out those books! And people on dA lie about their age to see pics all the time. Many of you go on p--- sites, I assume, the underage users have to lie about their age there. That would fall into many of the concerns wouldn't it? This all falls under a grey area, I think. It's not right but it can't really be controlled.
We just all need to practice good judgement. Or find a way to make better age verification. But really, many of us are underage anyway. Amd if there were methods taken against this, why would they go against a small quiz site? -
^reply made before I saw any of yours.
I'm gonna read through that.. Gimme a little bit of time, please. -
We're not condemning you for doing things, we're just asking you not to do them here. In a lot of ways it'd be easier to take down a small site like this in court than a behemoth like dA or wattpad.
If we can't prevent underage users from coming on here (and then sharing their age with everyone), we can at least try to prevent their access to stuff like this through the site. -
coathangers NewbieRegardless of laws, if the site mods and admin want to enforce that rule, they have EVERY right to do so. It's pointless to argue.
-
Here's another one, but it might pop up an ad so warning!!
-
I understand the concerns. I just wanted to get a little deeper. I never did any of this myself, as my rps have always just been action based and my drawings are mainly just headshots. The only rules I've broken are cussing and I haven't always been very respectful to my fellow users.
I believe in following the rules and laws to the best of my ability.
Thank you for the sources and thank you for dealing with me. -
coathangers NewbieMost libraries have a rule that they cannot moderate what kind of books are in there. Free reading, encouraging students, blah, blah, blah.
However... This rule isn't only to protect those from reading the smut. It's to keep them from actively participating in it, which can be seen as violating child p--- laws because most of those who do are underage. -
Because of DMCA wouldn't it just be the users responsibility if they did that and not the sites?
-
Furthermore, why aren't the mods cracking down on the underage?
-
Chiming in to say I agree with the moderators. GTQ isn't a 4chan type site that allows everything. Explicit content has always been against the rules, although some users choose to post it anyway. If moderators do see it, I support them deleting it.
Most sites have this kind of limit on content. Some sites are more "everything goes", but that's not the intention of GTQ. -
^ Thank you for clearing that up.

Speaking of explocit content. What about gore? Do you care about that anymore? Say I post one of my drawings and it's, hypothetically speaking, a man decapitating a dragon and there are huge fountains of blood, would that be deleted? (Note if I had such a work I personally would be offended if it got deleted D:)
