Thread Topic: New Quiz Maker System Under Development

I'm in the process of completely rewriting the quiz-making interface. It's going to be a lot better.
Here's a pic (shrunk down to fit here) of the interface, which will work a lot like creating a poll:
Without leaving the page, you add questions and they build up in a list on the right. You'll also notice a "Passphrase" which will be replacing quiz passwords. Each quiz will be given a passphrase, though there is a link to request a new one, which gives you this popup:
Back to the question list on the top right.
Hovering over a question brings up more options, as you can see at question #4 here:
There is an edit button, which sends the question back to the form for you to make changes. And a delete button to get rid of the question. When you delete a question, a link comes up that will let you undo the delete.
Also, at the left of each question is a little icon that lets you drag questions around to change the order. Here's a question being dragged:
Another change will be support for larger-size images, and support for dragging and dropping an image to your quiz.
Can't give an estimate on when this will be finished, but the work is ongoing! -
Mmm but...that looks like its going to take some getting used to. I don't want to criticise but it seems like changing the whole way to make a quiz for not much benefits - fixing something that's not broken.
If it was up to me I'd keep the quiz system mainly the same, I've not seen anyone have issues with it. I'm not sure what the point of the pass code thing is either. -
Seems legit. Thank you.

This is very good, but will you be able to have more than two answer choices?
-
GTQ Guy is addressing several flaws.
This new way appears to be javascript based meaning no inifinite redirect loops should be possible (removing redirect when 48 questions bug).
Weak password problems.
The no way to reorder questions problem.
And hopefully will make it so you can edit the results for multiple result quizzes. -
I don't like it - I've never had the 48 questions bug happen to me, I made a quiz with the max no. of questions and it was fine.
Why does a weak password matter - it's just a quiz.
But yes I really want the edit multi-result quizzes to happen but I didn't want you to redesign the whole system!
Please don't become one of those websites that forces us to have a long password, I'm already sick of email sites that do that and its not necessary for a quiz website and should be our choice if we want a short password. -
Oh my god thank you for this, Sometimes I get really frustrated when I make a quiz, so this is awesome. Might take some time to get used to it and all, but I think this is going to be much better.

There is a very big problem he is fixing I'm just not posting it here.

The new system will be easier to use. Instead of constantly going from one page to the next for every little thing, you'll be able to assemble the quiz all from one page. And make changes as you go. Pretty much everything will be editable, including the quiz title. I think it will be less frustrating and faster.
The reason for the passphrase is better security. Basically the passphrase is your password, I'm just calling it a "passphrase" because it works a little differently. They're generated by the server, with many billions of possible word combinations. It won't be too important if your quizzes are linked to your account, because you'll be able to log into them from your profile page. It's mainly for people without an account. -
It does look confusing though
-
Does it have a timeout feature like the poll creator has?
-
Oh yeah, that time limit thingy too.
Sometimes that really pissed me off when I was working on a question, had to do something, came back, went to the next section and it said it had timed out. That pisses me off so much, so are we still having that? -

For quizzes, unlike polls, it's going to save every change you make as you go. So if your session times out, when you log back in everything will be as you left it. The way it works with polls, nothing is permanently saved until you finish making the poll.
