each year, users will have the right to elect new mods to replace some of the older mods. this, for one, gives others a chance of being a mod and tackling responsibility, but it also may replace certain mods that may just not be working out well. for instance, lets say harrold was offline WAY too often and was slightly abusive of his powers. during re-election, the gotoquiz community can choose who they want to replace harrold, but they must have a good reason behind their choice. older mods may re-elect themselves if they want, and the voting system will get a simple power ranking.
users will be able to vote, but the power of the vote depends on the age of their account. the older the account is, the more power the vote will have on the re-election. this ensures that trolls may not abuse their voting powers and just vote for spam accounts and newbies.
i know this may have many kinks and such and we JUST got moderators, but i think its a good idea. anyways, i want you guys to give your thoughts on how the little system could improve and what your opinion is on the subject of re-election itself.
thank you for your time. -
It's a possibility. I think we should be able to take away the privileges if they are abused.

I feel like mods should just be reported straight-off for abusing power or anything like that. It will remove unfit mods faster, rather than waiting for a year. New mods could be added in a similar fashion. I feel that if we do elections every year, as the population of newer users with their little circles of friends grows, they'll be nominating and voting for each other regardless of actual experience or competence.. I don't know where this was going. This was about where I got to before I lost my train of thought. So these are my thoughts.

It's sort of good however rather than a public election I think that the old mods should give a list of their nominees to GTQ Guy.

Maru, it was already mostly circles of friends voting for one another.

I beg to differ, Geeky. .w. A lot of my friends said nothing about me, and most of the people I picked were not too close to me. Believe me, if I'd been just picking friends, there would have been a lot more, and a few of the ones that were there wouldn't have been.
I have too many problems with that post to bother with a drawn-out response, Mark. You just do what you do.
