Thread Topic: There's still the same old, same old..
-
Like, "I hurt myself today" or "I'm so depressed". But, there are those memorable threads that we all like to see. Things that make us emotional and things we all think are true. Sure, we could just bookmark it, but if we had moderators, the moderators could have a section in each category with the most memorable threads created in it--so they could put it in that section for everybody to see, and it won't just die, hidden in the seas of pages. It would be "stickied", like being stuck onto the subboard..
And only moderators could do this, as I said. -
This would fail for many reasons, and I could just sit here and laugh at you. But to prevent to from further misery I will list faults in this in a way you are smart enough to understand.
1) What is a memorable thread? Like they say, one man's meat is another mans poison. Let's say someone was a moderator, and they put a thread of someone who was close to you left. Or when you made a horrible post. How would this affect you? Like an unsmart idiot, this would just make you more " I'm so depressed". And if you finally think a horrible thread or post that you made would finally die down, how would you like it if somebody just brought it up?
2) Why only mod's?: Furthermore, if there ever are moderators, why give them the power to decide which thread goes up and which thread stays down? If you were a normal person, why couldn't you decide which thread is special to you and which ones aren't. Would you really want your b----yness lying up for everybody on Gotoquiz to see? If you failed on Gotoquiz and just don't want to bring it up, ditch this crap.
Doodle out -
Sorry BB, but I have to agree with Doodle here. This wouldn't work at all. Different threads are special to different people. What if you had the best conversation of ur life on one of those "I'm depressed" threads? This is a bad idea.
-
I'm talking about the threads we [i]all/i] like, such as the "This is for you GTQ" thread.
But, I'm only looking for nice criticism..no cussing please..I'm not for rudeness. Sorry if I sound immature. I will except criticism but not if it's all rudeness in my face.. -

I'm not trying to be rude on purpose, but this idea is just wrong.
-
I thought it was cool, but if you don't like it..
-
Think before you write
-
I actually thought about it before I posted it. I really liked the idea when I made the thread.

There are threads that this could be used for. Things like Appa's FAQ threads would be nice to always have at the top without constantly blank posting them. But as for personal threads, it's better off bookmarking them. When creating something like this for the entire community, it's best to have it benefit the entire community or be something the entire community took part in.
But sticky threads wouldn't be bad. -
There we go!
Somebody positive who thinks positively about this positive idea~! -
Whoa there. I'm not fully in support.
There would have to be a limit, though. Two or three per category. And moderators wouldn't have full control. They would be able to nominate threads, but ultimately it would be up to the community to vote.
This isn't likely to happen. But it would be a nice feature, if it was used correctly. -
Sticky threads could just be linked to from FAQ or something, just to simplify coding.
But why the f--- would we sticky "I depressive, gonna kill myself again tommorrow" threads? -
I never said you were, just said that I noticed you kind of liked the idea.
There's a difference.
And Geek, I said we were going to avoid sticking those threads.
