Thread Topic: Why?

The kid I like is only in one of my classes, and he gets nervous whenever I try to talk to him, making me think like he actually does like me. But if he's terrified of speaking to me, how is he going to ever ask me out? He's made it obvious, I'm trying to be nice, and he just stares at me and stutters. What should I do? I don't want to make him more nervous or unconfortable.

Just hang out with him so he's more comfortable. Then tell him you like him. . . you don't have to go on a date first thing.

@gfh: We can't really hang out cause of classes and stuff but I give him a huge smile and then he makes a nervous face and half smiles back. I say hi and he stutters in his response. I wish we could. There's a dance coming up so that's why I was getting a bit worried about it...I've never been asked out before and he's just so cute. I wish your awesome advice could just work. -

Talk to him, even if he's scared. Smile or laugh when you're around him, or something.

Just say, "So you coming to the dance" and if he says yes, you say "Going with anyone?" and he'll most likely say no and you say "Um, well. . . would you go with me?"

That's too practical. .3. He'd catch on.
Try a careful, well-planned approach. Try to get class as early as possible and talk to him. Sit so you can be at eye level or close to it. Then just talk. :B If you wanna go with him, ask. -
@lil: Ya, I've been trying to act funny around my friends when he's at his locker. There will just be a few moments where we look at eachother, I feel confident and he feels worried. I say "Hey _____!" I look up, and then he's gone. But I will try to talk to him as often as possible. Fingers crossed he says an actual word this time! xD.

@Moyashi: I really like that one. The whole asking thing is what's killing me. I act like I'm so cool and brave but when it comes to asking people out, I couldn't do it. My friend really knows how to pump people up, I'll ask her to help me before I do it.

i liked gfh's idea though about seeing if he'd wanna go to the dance with you. hehe i almost said something like that to my friend Duncan today, cuz there was a school dance today that my friend dragged me to and i knew it was gonna be boring.. but then i didnt ask Duncan that cuz it would sound too much like i was trying to ask him out haha no.
