weird doesn't mean good. "liking" kids is weird, so is f---ing cakes. weird is really broad and just not a way you should identify as sexually in my opinion. (nothing against people who identify as queer, i just think yall need better terms)

"Queer" is a term that has been adopted by LGBT members as a way to turn a common insult into something a bit more positive. There's not really much more to it.
In my opinion, I think it's a good concept; it's a great way to show the younger generation that you can turn insults into something positive, and it makes good use of unique terms. I mean, people use "gay" as an insult, but people still identify as gay, right? You don't consider gay to be broad, right?
Furthermore, queer (weird) was meant to be broad in the first place. Some people get offended if you use "gay" as an umbrella term, so queer took the place of that. Even then, if someone asks me, I'm quick to say that I'm "half gay" and I never really think to use the word queer to describe myself. It's probably just a preference. -
Its like the word nigga

Was nigga ever used as an insult, though? I thought it was only ever the hard n-word
