But, yeah, I kinda agree. It's kinda weird when you're celebrating because you've lasted a week or two xD I'd say it's okay to start that "celebrating" or whatever, over a few months, maybe a year. But that's just me :P -

I dont even remember when me and my gf started dating. It was some time in late august or early september. We never celebrated a 1 week, 1 month, 3 month, and we probably wont celebrate a 1 year.

I think it depends on what is meant by "celebrate." If you mean they say stuff like, "It's been 7 weeks, I love you" or something like that, I don't see the problem. I can see it being annoying to other people, but I don't honestly see why it's anyone else's problem.
