Thread Topic: Gay is not a fashion choice.

At my school boys are turning gay because, they think it's something like 'Punk Rock' or 'Goth'. It makes me so mad. They're pathetic. There like "Oh. It's cool to dress like a gay."
-
I agree with you. At my school now, people think that being gay is in. Which it's not. It's a lifestyle choice, you just can't make yourself be gay or something. Your born that way, or your convert to it. But it doesn't happen overnight.

Im inclined to believe that sexuality is as much a choice as your fashion taste is.
What i am certain of is that people are allowed to chose what they want to chose, for whatever reasons they like.
It shows distinct lack of character and maturity that you feek their choices make yours less valid. And a distinct lack of perspective that you deny the existence of a trend because you would see it be counter culture. -
Vladimir Putin NewbieUnless they're actually gay, as in having sex with guys, it sounds more like metrosexuality to me.

I think I agree that some people choose to be, society is more open about it than ever and I do believe some people treat it like a trend. Like they do some have similarities in how they dress and things. I'd also like to know why there's a gay voice - I've been wondering that for ever.
-
Vladimir Putin NewbieI think it is more common in gay men with feminine interests. Generally speaking those who work in fashion tend to have it, and maybe it has to do with who you hang out with as well (a lot of times even men who are not gay who have a lot of female friends tend to have a higher pitch to their voice). This is just speculation, and I've heard gay guys without the "gay accent".
-
I know, I'm not saying they all have a gay accent but I wonder why - there's not a "straight accent"
-
I wish I had a gay best friend.
