I am 13 years old and a few months ago I went over to my best friend's house. There, I met his little sister, a ten-year-old girl. I don't really feel any sexual attraction to her, but she's the most adorable thing ever. She likes me, too, but I don't really know why. I've always wanted a little sister (because I have three brothers) and she would be the perfect one. She told me she wants me to be her brother, too. My friend knows about this, and he accepts it. No one else knows except the girl...I don't know if anyone would be okay with me liking a ten-year-old, and I'm fairly certain the girl hasn't really grasped the concept of love yet. So, what do I do?

well, it doesnt look like a romantic kind of love so it should be fine it looks like the kind of family love.

I thought somebody would see it like that. But...for almost three years I've wanted to be with a person exactly like her. But how do you distinguish family love with romance love?

well, this might not be conpletally true but
romance- you feel an urge to want the person in a way that makes you tingle or you get butterflies around them
family- you feel comforted around them and ( mostly if older) to protect them or comfort them in bad times like really good or best friend.
of course everybody is different and some of this will be different there is more reasons too but most people can feel a difference
ask yourself
do i want to have a family with this person
do i feel like we should be a family( as in brother and sister) -

An urge? Extremely. Whenever she does something I just feel the need to go over to her and hug her or something. The last two things you said...yes to both of them. Does that make me weird? Well, I don't feel like we should be siblings, I just would've liked it if she was in my life a lot sooner. -

It's romantic love when there's physical attraction (like the desire to make out with her, or simply adoring her face) and most importantly, when you want to go out with that person. Think about it, do you want to spend all your time with her and get closer to her?
Plus it isn't wrong to be attracted to someone who's 10 specilly at your age. As long as you don't have sex with her. -
