If you like someone as only a fleeting fancy, then ignore it. It's natural to find attraction in random people. But if you seriously care about your crush, then I would suggest letting him know. Whether that be now or in a few months really depends on you. You have to ask yourself if you think he's the kind of guy who would be willing to wait or not. Most guys would be kinda put off about that idea but if you think he cares about you back then I doubt he would give up the chance to be with you even if he has to wait a few months.
