Alrighty...so....THIS MIGHT BE LONG. JUST WARNING YOU.
Ok, it all started last year in camp. Camp is 3 sessions,each session is 2 weeks. I go every year, that was my 7th. I usualy stay with my trio of friends. Me, nat, and liz. All girls. The i met this girl karli and we became friends. I've known this guy for a few years at camp now. I don't know how it happened, but we became REALLY good friends last year. And my friend liz has a sister,laura. Laura is friends with lauren, who was also in our group of friends. Me, liz, laura, nat, karli, and sam. So, sam, liz and i had swimming together. Sometimes i wouldn't go in the water because i didn't want to mess up my hair, so they would always joke around and try to pour water on me. We were really close. In the first session or second one of camp, sam developed a huge crush on karli. He told her, and it messed up their friendship for a while. They got over it somewhat..and whatever. But, here's where i come in. Sam and i were really close friends. He was the only guy i could act fully myself around. So, in the middle/towards the end of camp, i noticed that he'd been staring at me alot. Everyone in camp sits on a hill, and my camp group has a section of the hill where we sit. Me, nat, liz, and karli always sit at the bottom, and sam sits at the top diagnol from me with his group of geeky friends. He would always stare at me during lunch and stuff. I asked him by email if he liked me, because if he didn, it would be the same thing with karli all over again. He simply said no. It's passed camp now and we've been emailing alot. He seems like he likes me through the emails and stuff...and this was one he sent about a month ago:
"r u still going to camp this year????!!!!! please please please come!!! i miss u a little bit ;( and i want to see u again face to face"
And i asked if he wanted to see my picture, because i changed a bit from last year. His response was basically a super enthusiastic yes. I like him as a best friend, but i think he likes me as something more than a best friend. If he likes me and admits it, i'll try to act normal about it, but everything will just seem weird knowing that he likes me. I'm still not 100% sure he likes me more than a friend, but still. If he pokes me or whatever, it's gonna be all weird, knowing that he likes me....
And the thing is, The only one of my friends besides him who are going to camp is Laura for the last session, so it's just gonna be me, him, and my other not so close friends and his geeky friends....so yea...just us.
What can i do to make things less awkward? If he likes me, why not just admit it? I know he doesn't want to mess things up....but do you think if he likes me..could he be waiting until camp to tell me? -
Before I try and help you with your dilemma, I have a question.
Do you like him? Or do you just think he likes you? -
I already stated that. I like him as a best friend.

Confront him about how you feel and how he feels. Try not to hurt his feelings, but be serious and don't lie to him while doing this. -
I already tried that. More than 3 times.
And that also sounds like I like him when i don't...
"Sam, i need you to answer this honestly....do you like me? If you do, just say it,"
Sam: "For the last time, no! I still like karli..." -
What I'm saying is that you should say:
"You've been acting a bit strange lately. What's going on?"
Like that. -
He just make an excuse. And lately? How about for a year....

Well...by how he is acting, he might like you even though he like the other girl. But men hate it when a girl persist the questions.
