Da Boss NoviceFell free to tell me what it is you are running and what you've equipped it with.

My mom and I built one, kinda. We took two not working Windows XP towers that were the same, disassembled them, and re combined them to make a working Frankenstein computer. The only thing that doesn't work is the disk drive because it was broke in both computers.
But we didn't do anything fancy. -
My friend has built a few.

I've built a number of them, and I would never buy a pre-made desktop after doing it myself. The last computer I built uses a Sandy Bridge i3 processor with 8 GB of RAM and a small SSD with Windows 7 installed. Before that was an AMD quad-core machine with Ubuntu linux that I'm using as a server (not for GTQ!).
If I could give just one recommendation it would be this: put an SSD in your computer instead of a mechanical hard drive. An SSD will probably make the most noticeable difference in performance for most people. And the prices are coming down. -
Da Boss NoviceI built one with an Intel Dual-Core processer, a 160 gig hard drive, 600w power supply, and 8 gigs of RAM. Has Windows 7 (Have SSD) Funny enough, the COUNTY government gave my dad their electronic scrap, and that's what I used. Runs like a charm.
