... That has used or at least heard of the computer program CAD, used to design buildings and such?
-
I've heard of it in my intro to engineering class. never used it though
-
Not an engineer, but I have used a CAD program called Inventor to design mechanical parts.
-
Oh, cool. Is it easy to use/ understand? Because I'm taking a summer camp/ course thing at my local college to learn how to use it, because I want to be an architect

It is, once you've gotten the hang of it. You have to figure out where everything is though, and don't underestimate the importance of dimensions. Dimensions are ridiculously important.
Especially if you ever use parametric constraints (basing everything on a single base dimension- for example, you have a rectangle, and you set one side to 3 inches. Then you set the second side to d0/2, meaning the first dimension divided by 2, and it's 1.5 inches.
The reason you would do this is so you can keep things proportional- you can change the base to 5, and the second will change to 2.5 and so on) -
Ah, I actualyy completely understand that, Appa. Thank you

*actually

Used it a few times in engineering, not very often though.

Why the heck did you bump this?
My dad has it.
