Arg/Chi time, biotches. Where Javier's a soldier and left to war, and after three years the Latin countries hold a spesho video recording for Alvaro.
Excuse any ridiculous typos. xD
----
The usual afternoon tea was cold, but he did not mind cold tea anymore. It was warmer than his feelings that were simply bitterly cold. Sour, too. More sour than the lemons in his tea. He took another sip and sighed a bit, looking around the dull kitchen. It had been that dull for many, many, many months, almost three years. Everything had seemed gray to him since the only person that matter to him went to war.
Another clinche story. The person he loved most was at war, risking his life for his country and he may never possibly come back. So very clinche, but it still wrecked him to know that maybe that day he left would be the last day they ever each other again.
That was probably what killed Alvaro the most. Never seeing him again.
There was once when his friends decided to send a video message to him. Alvaro had gotten with the group and friends and they all recorded a greeting to his dear Javier, and they had sent it to him. Of course he never responded, and what also killed Alvaro was that he didn't know if it was whether he was too busy or he was lost in battle and no one knew it so they couldn't advise him.
That really tended to make him want to cry. But he never did. He lept his feelings in for the sake of himself. And everyone else. Everyone always worried about him and how he was doing. Manuel did especially. And Roberto. Esteban too. A lot of people did. But they stayed away from him because they feared that he may crack under the pressure.
Well, they cared. Alvaro wasn't so sure about the present where everyone was too busy to remember about anything minor. Alvaro was busy too, but since he was the one in the situation, it was never out of his mind.
It was really screwing him up at work too. All his files and government writings were unorganized because he just wasn't in the mood to do anything. That explained why whenever he was asked to pull out a file, he spent a long time looking for it. He was just so unorganized at the time, both in the world and in his mind.
The only one who he supposed had the slightest understanding of what he felt like was one of his least closer friends Fernando, but that was only because his friend was at war with another friend in some country. And to add to that, Victor was pretty safe where he was, so Fernando didn't really have much to worry about. So from what Alvaro knew, it wasn't the same. But it was close enough. Sometimes he got comfort from the older male, but knowing Fernando, it was tough for him to do that without actually getting really touchy. Alvaro hated when people got touchy with him.
Unlike Victor, who was too scrawny to put into battle, Javier was one of the bigger soldiers. So they set him right in the battlefield. Where, Alvaro was unsure. Something about Falkland Islands and wanting those, and to keep Great Britain from getting them. Or was in nuclear weapons and keeping those under control? God, he really didn't remember. It had been so long.
Though in three years Alvaro supposed that his time there may almost be up. Just another year or so if he remembered correctly. He knew Javier would never really be the same when he came back though.
The almost three years he had spent alone and waiting for Javi to come back were spent by some friends coming by here and then to check on him. Mainly Victoria and Roberto. Victoria was an ex of Javier so she just worried about Alvaro's wellbeing while with the thought of him. Roberto was just a shy person who was pretty fond of Alvaro for always having been so nice to him. Roberto was usually around Alvaro anyway.
So while he drank his tea and replayed all the events that had happened in that period of time, his phone began to ring. And ring. And ring. When Alvaro finally got around to answering it, he blinked. Esteban. Esteban never really called him for anything. Must be important.
"Hello?" he answered softly.
"Hey, is Alvaro there?" Esteban laughed on the other line. Of course. Always making fun of his voice. The idiot really never knew when to stop doing that.
"Stop that. Really. You make me want to punch you in the face."
More laughing on the other line. "Sorry. Just called to let you know that we're organizing another video recording to send to Javier, if you're interested in coming. No, wait, you're the one we want to come mainly. Are you in?"
Alvaro sighed sadly. "There's no point. I haven't heard any news on him since he left. I have thought to assume he's dead..."
Esteban gasped, which commenced his gay. "No, no, love! Come on, give it a chance!"
He grumbled. "Why should I?" -
"Would the awesome Brazil ever let you down?"
Alvaro sighed again. "I guess not.. Who is going?"
"There's me, Fernando, Victoria, Roberto and Alejandro, Manuel, Linda... Pretty much all of us. Except Victor of course."
"Okay. I guess I'll go. What time are you guys going to start?"
"6 p.m. You should come earlier though. It's at my house, by the way. Don't ask why."
"Uh, okay. I'll see you all there then."
Alvaro hung up. Brazil's cheerfulness and confidence really bothered him a lot. Somehow it reminded him of that Prussia guy that he used to ship a lot of stuff. Yep, Prussia. Alvaro had figured it out right there. Esteban is like a mini Gilbert.
So he took took a shower and dressed to get ready to go and record whatever message they had planned. He dressed nicely too, combed his hair and dressed up and everything. If Javi actually got to see how much of a wreck he had become in a few years, he may get worried. You know, assuming that he wasn't dead.
When he was ready he only stared at the door of his house, not sure if he should really leave. Last time they did this was when Alvaro completely broke down in the middle of the recording. So what if the same happened again? It didn't seem worth it to him. But with the hope that Javier would see them all again he left anyway.
The walk to Esteban's house was a bit long. Usually with Javier it was short. He always made Alvaro angry or laugh at many points of the walk, which always killed time. But now with him gone, there was no one to troll him or make him laugh. It was so bitterly different.
Hell, he admitted that he missed it when Javier used to piss him off. It was better than not having him around.
Finally he got to the door, and as usual everyone was outside. What he noticed most were Fernando and Esteban talking solemnly to each other. Usually they had Javier around with them, but of course since he wasn't there, the usually content trio of those three was now just a depressing duo.
"Alvaro, you look so handsome~" Victoria called out happily. How she was still smiling surprised Alvaro.
"Thank you," he muttered, right before a very nervous Roberto rushed up to him and fixed his tie. "Eh, what's with you?" Alvaro muttered to the taller male.
"J-Just f-fixing your t-tie," he said shyly. "It should b-be s-straighter so it l-looks n-nice."
"Gracias," Alvaro said softly. "How are you and Alejandro?"
Roberto blushed. "V-very fine. A-are you getting a-along well?"
"Better than before. Thanks for the concern," he smiled, though it was only a fake smile to try to reassure Roberto. "Hey, isn't Alejandro in? Why aren't you with him?"
"I'm w-waiting for e-everyone else. Plus he's the one w-who's putting u-up all the s-s-stuff."
"Okay." Alvaro smiled, and held Roberto's hand. "Don't stutter so much. Don't be so shy. It's not a good thing."
Roberto nodded. "O-okay. I'll try.."
"The stuff is ready, guys. You can go in~" Victoria said to them, as she, the Depressing Duo, Manuel, and various other people went in the house.
"Let's go," Alvaro mumbled, he and Roberto going in as well.
The seats inside were set like they are usually set. Where they are set in rows so that the taller where in the back and the shortest in the front.
In the front row, Alvaro sat down with Linda and Fernando.
In the middle row, it was Roberto, Victoria, and Sebastian.
The last row was Esteban, Alejandro, and Manuel. Alejandro was up though, and getting up so that he could fix the camera to start recording. "So we all know what to say?" he hollered. Everyone nodded. Alvaro panicked for a second. "Wait, we're supposed to know what to say? I don't!"
Alejandro chuckled. "Except you. You're just going to say whatever comes to mind. Okay, starting the video! Places, tres dos uno!"
He pressed the button and rushed to his seat. The video recording had started.
They all stood up. "Hola, Javier," they all said in unision. Everyone except Alvaro, of course. "We're missing you a lot right now. We're all going to give you greetings."
