Mexico wasn't doing too well before WW2. The ten years of war with France and the Great Depression of America left the country struggling. Things began to fix themselves, until Germany declared war with America. During the time, Mexico debated whether to join the Allies or Axis (The reason for this is because at the time, Mexico was still pissed at America for having to give up what is Texas and California, and Mexico was also angry at France for the war), until Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. Then Mexico decided to go help America out, sending aid. On that day, Mexico declared war, but only when Germany bombed Mexico was when the country actually went into battle. Americans gave the Mexicans roles in battle planes, the immigrants being sent away for training, promised citizenship once the war was over. While 'Aztec Eagle' was doing very well in the air, Mexico had spies from the Allies and itself, sending any suspicious Italians and any member of what was the Axis to his jails.
