Thread Topic: I HAVE A QUESTION
-
But is Avatar: The Last Airbender considered an Anime?
-
It's debatable. Anime is just a style of cartoon that originated in Japan. I would just call it an American cartoon influenced by anime style.
-
yes, based on the art style its drawn in, it is definitely an anime. in fact, its an extremely well made anime in my own opinion and deserves more praise than it gets.
-
I consider it a ybrid of cartoonism/animae but absol makes a swell opinion for bot points
-
I'd say no. Only because of the fact that Avatar isn't originally Japanese. It may be anime styled, but it's not an anime.
Avatar is still an awesome show either way though. -
@Luna i find that's very unfair to classify something as 'non-anime' simply because it isn't made in japan. i find that if something is drawn and animated in the anime art style, then that's what makes it a anime. any show can be made in japan, but it's the way it's drawn and animated that makes it an anime, not the place it's made in.

Vladimir Putin NewbieAt the end of the day, children, it's all still cartoons.
-
That's just how I see it. I see Japanese cartoons as "anime," and other cartoons that have an anime style "anime styled."
-
They're all cartoons damn. They only thing that divides them is the Western style and JERPERNEEZ style. But they're still just cartoons. It doesn't really matter.
