This is the start to a series called 'The Grim Cycle' where you wake up in a new universe everyday with a different version of you or the world. The series starts off in a place called 'The Grim' I hope you enjoy!!!!

What’s the first thing you notice when you wake up?
- The ground. It’s too perfect. Like plastic.
- The air. It smells like static and metal.
- Your own breathing. Too loud.
- A weird stillness—like the world is paused.
- The emptiness. It feels wrong.
- The sky—it’s just gray noise.
- Yourself. You feel like a stranger.
What's your first thought?
- “Where am I?”
- “Who am I?”
- “This must be a dream.”
- “I need to escape.”
- “I feel… calm?”
- “Something’s watching me.”
Then, from the void... A bear. Not a normal one. His body is made of mismatched pixels and broken polygons. He approaches, like a puppet on a dying string.He says "Do you remember anything from before this?”
- A name—but you don’t know if it’s yours.
- Flashes of light. Screaming.
- A song.
- Someone's face.
- Nothing. Absolutely nothing .
- Just… falling.
- You remember remembering—but not the memory itself.
He leans in closer "how do you feel right now.”
- Heavy. Like your body doesn’t belong to you.
- Light. Like you might float away.
- Numb.
- A quiet panic.
- Focused.
- Disconnected—like a puppet.
- Calm, weirdly.
- Like something is missing.
“You’re not broken, if that’s what you’re wondering.”“You’re just in between. Most can’t handle it.”“Let’s keep going.”
- Oh...
- Okay...
You find a small object in your hand. You don’t remember picking it up. What is it?
- A house key.
- A small mirror, cracked.
- A torn photo of someone smiling.
- A toy
- A metal coin with no face.
- A bullet casing
The Bear stares at you “Do you want to be remembered?”
- Yes. Even if I’m broken, I want to be known.
- No. Let me disappear between universes.
- Only by those who matter.
- I don’t know yet. Ask me at the end.
After a long silence the Bear asks “Every day you will wake up in a new universe, with a new you. A better one. And you must obey.”
- "What do you mean?"
- “I’ll adapt.”
- "Bring it on."
- "Do I have a choice?"
- Silence.
- “That’s not fair.”
- “I don’t believe you.”
- “I’ll survive.”
Bear holds up a blank card. “What do you want to be tomorrow?”
