My answer said I was almost emo so if I wanted to be emo I should keep trying. Wow, I have never seen a more obvious display of a poser being a poser. I agree that emo's an entire sub-culture and not just a music genre anymore. Every sub-culture starts with a common interest among a group which is often music, but if you think every fan of emo music cuts and cries constantly you really don't understand people at all. And it's apparent the creator of this quiz is trying desperately to belong to a group. Be yourself and stop trying to fall into some stereotype.

Okay first of all, emo means emotional not depressed. I wish i could just scream that from the top of the empire state building...Also, I've learned that when i do cut myself its uncontrollable and afterward the external pain from that, and the feeling that you're being watched, take away the pain of whatever else is tearing you apart. But barely, so i do it again...:C

I mean, get real. Emo is a music genre that turned into a fashion sense. The only reason that any Emo cuts, is because they want to feel rejected by chavs to fit in with the other people that do that. I am quite emo myself, and I'm extremely happy with my life.

My favorite color is black and I wear it a lot, but that's not all I wear. I don't cut myself. I don't hate other people even if I'm a loner. So I'm not emo. I understand the love of black and wanting to be different, but, people, why hate yourself, others, and your parents? Why cut yourself? Stop seeing the evil in life and start seeing the beauty.

Everyone has different sides of their own story. It's not really nice to diss someone because that person is emo. I mean, how would you feel if someone called you a "freak" because of that? Of course, you would feel very hurtful. I got 14% on this quiz, and I feel that this quiz should have never been created to begin with, or taken for that matter. If you seriously WANT to be emo, you need to talk to someone about your mental problems because only a dumb--- would WANT that kind of life. There are people who have a life of misery that would KILL for the lives most of you probably have. Focus on the positive things about you and your life, and wait until you're an adult to decide whether your life is worth living. When you're a kid, things are confusing. Things are hard. But no way should someone under the age of eighteen WANT this kind of life. WANT to kill themself. If you're over eighteen, you still shouldn't WANT this kind of life. If you hate your parents, why? Because they grounded you for doing something you're not supposed to? If you're parents are abusing you, I'd see why, but most of you probably have loving, caring parents. If you're over eighteen you have the ability to MOVE AWAY from your parents. Seriously people.

Sorry dude, but that isn't Emo. Beleive me, I've written an essay on Emo, and cutting/crying/writing suicide nites ain't Emo. Emo's a music genre dude, a music genre, not a lifestyle. This sort of stuff is killing the genre too. So please don't pretend that you are an expert..please.

it's not all about suicide and cutting, i admit part of it is, but not all...

it's not about how you dress and what music you listen to, but more of how you really feel...
