Voila! Year four and the world is getting more dangerous for you and your friends. More chances for you to have an adventure and now more chances to make friends and really be yourself around your true friends

  1. Hermione and I had gone upstairs to get the boys, Harry was wriggling in his bed and freaking out, and he was sweating so Hermione went to wake him up. "Harry, harry wake up" she held the candle near his face hoping it would help. "Come on Harry wake up" I was trying and then he woke up. "You alright?" "Hermione, Iris bad dream. When did you two get here?" Over the years Hermione and I had grown very close. My father was a believer of only pure wizards not muggle born such as Hermione so I always told him I was going to someone else's house and they would pick me up from there. I had hitched a ride with Hermione as my parents weren't able to bring me over. "Just now" I replied as I sat down on the end of his bed. I was wearing a black leather jacket over my black skin tight top and had, my dark high waist jeans. Hermione carried on over to Ron's bed who was fast asleep and muttering, "You?" Harry sat up with his glasses on and replied "Last night" Out of nowhere Hermione was attempting to now wake up Ron "Wake up, Wake up Ronald!" The candle flickering and Ron had pulled his sheets towards his face as he realised we had come in. As usual his only response was "Bloody Hell" Hermione stomped off and called behind her, "Honestly get dressed" She looked back at me "Well... guess I've got to go then" I sighed and pulled myself off the bed, still tired from the late night at Hermione's. "Boys don't go back to sleep, she'll kill you" Hermione was just out the door as she turned back and had a go at Ron for going back into his sheets.
  2. Morning had broken and the boys were finally ready. We were walking through the woods as Ron and Harry were trudging along. Fred and George were walking alongside Mr Weasley and Hermione and I were walking briskly as well. Ron and Harry had no idea where we were going. Ginny was walking along beside me as Mr Weasley called back "Aint the foggiest, come on keep up". Great, even he isn't sure. The Weasleys had also become quite a huge part to the family. Christmases were shared amongst the families even if my parents were reluctant to send me and Hermione and Ginny would stay round and occasionally the boys as well. Fred had come over and pulled me towards the twins, "okay we have a new idea. Prank Ron operation 17 alert and ready." George was grabbing something from his pocket. "Ah come on not right now, he's still groggy and I think having him even groggier today will be TERRIBLE. So please don't do anything stupid. I love your pranks but please not today?" Fred seemed astonished I wasn't taking part in the pranks and practical jokes today. They realised it was still early for us and I had no sleep from the night at Hermione's. George nudged me back over as the pair of them groaned and he placed the items back into his pocket. As we come to the end of the twisted path a man was standing over by one of the large trees surrounded by the clearing "Arthur! Took your time son!" "Sorry Amos some of us had a sleepy start" He looked back at Ron who was trailing behind Harry yawning. I giggled as he went light headed and almost head butted a tree branch sticking out, luckily no one else saw. "This is Amos Diggory everyone, he works with me at the Ministry, and this is his son Cedric." A boy in 6th year, Hufflepuff leaped from the tree. He was the Cedric I had been talking to since my first year. He was in 3rd at the time. We'd grown close over the years sending letters and Owls over the holidays and only hardly ever bumping into each other at school. We met a few times during our school trips to Hogsmeade though. He was still taller than me now by a head. His brown hair was longer and his stunning, glistening grey eyes were more tempting for me to stare into than I had ever noticed before. Hermione, Ginny and I gave each other a quick glance and then I winked and raised my eye brows. Harry had caught me off guard and realised I was pulling that face about Cedric. "Oh liking a bit of eye candy from a 6th year?" He had pulled me over but I had no idea why he was acting so jealous. "Yeah so what? He's good looking it's just his looks don't see why you're suddenly interested in who I take fancy in?" Harry went red and stomped over to Ron. Wonder what was up with him. I caught back up with the girls who were talking about where we were going. Amos pulled over Harry as he was still in a mood and I guess being noticed brightened him up.
  3. We reached a hill and all that was upon it was a rugged old stinky boot. Harry was just as confused as I was but we were told by the twins it was a port key. Everyone gathered round the boot and I took my place next to Ron. Harry almost missed grabbing the key as we flew up still clinging to the boot with everyone shouting and screaming. I felt as if I was going to slip and couldn't stop laughing while having fun being almost thrown around by the simple boot, or should I say manky port key? As flashes of light surrounded us all, Amos and Arthur as well as Cedric had obviously done this before. They instructed us to let go and Hermione was too sceptical but as soon as all four of us had let go we went flying off behind. All of us landed in a thud including the twins. I landed first then the twins had come down with George's leg on my stomach and Fred's body over my legs. The pair of them got off and Arthur, Amos and Cedric walked down as Cedric was smirking at my small ginger predicament giving me a hand up. "Thanks" I said blushing and he did as well, "No problem, long time no see Rivers, or should I say Riddle?" He had helped me up and brushed the grass off my shoulder, "Cedric shut up come on please. It's nice to see you too." I had trusted Cedric with as much as letting him know my secrets which if were spread like wild fire I swear I would kill myself. Cedric gave me a smile then helped Harry as the twins helped up Hermione and Ginny leaving me to help up Ron. "Bloody hell to that" He wasn't so keen on the fall and me getting friendly with the 6th year. Aren't they both in such friendly moods? I don't think they knew how Cedric and I had been talking for the past three years. Arthur dragged us all up the hill, clinging to my bag falling off my shoulders. "Well kids, welcome to the Quidditch world cup" Tents EVERYWHRE! Fans juggling, selling items and house elves riding camels. We were all dodging broom sticks and people. As we walked along, Cedric and I talked at the back of our little group. Out of nowhere we ended up holding hands. It must have just been our instinct to not get lost as I grabbed the strap hanging from Hermione's bag like a baby elephant would do. His hands obviously bigger than mine, wrapped round my tiny fingers. They seemed to fit perfectly...
  4. Amos and Cedric went off and we were to see them later at the match. As we all came to a halt Arthur showed us our temporary home a.... tiny tent. Everyone clambered into the tent and to my surprise was massive. I was called to grab a bunk with Ginny and Hermione in one section of the tent. Ron went straight for the kitchen and the twins went off to the table to rest. "Ronald out of the kitchen we're all hungry" Arthur had a go at Ron, The twins mocked him "Yeah out of the kitchen Ron" "Feet off the table!" Again they mocked him "Feet off the table" I grabbed my bunk and fell onto the bed shattered and still a bit sore from the fall off the port key. Fell asleep till night fall when we realised the match was to begin in about three hours. Fed and now well rested we couldn't wait for the match!!!
  5. Match Time. Yes! The stairs were so far up, incredibly high up. Ron asked how far up were we and guess who was just below us. Draco Malfoy with his stuck up father. Our families, were still close so I tried to keep my distance when in public. "Well if it rains you'll be the first to know." Draco then followed his father by calling out he was in the Minister's box and he even boasted he had a personal invitation from Cornelius Fudge himself. His father caught him off guard and told him off then scared Harry by warning him to enjoy himself while he still could. He just raised his head to me as Draco jolted his head, no words said. The crowds were roaring and we were so high up. We were right up the top. RIGHT up the top. The players for the Irish flew straight above us as the twins called out their names. Fireworks with a dancing Leprechaun and the Bulgarians came out of nowhere ruining the firework. Here come the best. The best seeker in the world was in the Bulgarian team. This was going to be the 422nd world cup final and the best as well. I wanted to go talk to Draco if I could later on. Even If in the first and second year he wasn't so friendly, we were still family friends and I were to see him soon again and again. Cedric had bought me an Irish scarf and I painted his face for him in the Bulgarian patterns and colours. We were jumping around and cheering for the teams when Cedric and I were pushed together as we stood up. For some reason this... all just seemed right.
  6. After in the tent we were mucking about with Ron calling that Krum was the best. We all joked around saying he was in love and as they were singing Victor I love you, Ron looked straight at me but as he caught me smile he looked down. He was embarrassed, not by the singing but because he was caught looking at me as they sang seeing even I was taking the mick. The Irish as I thought were getting their pride on but as Arthur came back in he looked terrified. "We have to get out of here, now" Outside people were screaming and running away calling for loved ones. A fire was blazing and getting back to the port key was the best way out. Fred and George had responsibility of Ginny and we were told to just run. I went to turn but called out to Harry "Come on Harry we have to go!" Hermione screamed for him and we all ran as fast as we could through the stampede of terrified people. All of us were stuck together until a mob of people began running in another direction towards our tight group. A group of people in masks and tall hats were coming towards the crowds. As me and Harry had been split from the group then each other. "Harry?! Hermione?! RON?!" my voice and screams couldn't be heard over the screams of others but I could hear the group calling after the pair of us, I lost all visibility of Hermione and the twins.
  7. I saw Harry for a split second but fire was shot my way making someone shove me out of the way. Falling towards a few people I fell to the floor and unable to control it, slammed my head on a table next to me. I felt dizzy attempting to get up but failing each time, I could feel a small trickle of blood passing my eye. Then my vision blurred into the orange of the flames as I lost all consciousness. I awoke to Hermione calling me and then everyone's voice as they called for me and Harry. Smoke lingered causing me to cough as Cedric ran through the burnt rubble searching for us both. Easing myself up able to see the damage caused I could see Cedric walking through. "Cedric?" I called to him and he responded with a wave as he came closer and helped me up "You okay? We thought we wouldn't find you. Come on we need to find Harry" I joined back up with the others as we searched for Harry. Still dizzy and my ankle giving way every now and then as I must have sprained it in the fall, Cedric helped me hobble along. Harry was hiding from someone or something when we all found him but then out of nowhere people were calling out as they surrounded us. The people from tonight were death eaters and the mark in the sky was, the Dark Mark. His mark. The cold had set in as a skull and snake danced with each other in the sky.
  8. On the Hogwarts Express we were all discussing what had happened. Hogwarts was the safest place for me right now anyway due to my own fear that it could lead to something even worse. I grabbed a liquorice wand and a pumpkin pasty as well as a bit of the usual Jelly beans. After getting off and having all our stuff taken in everyone was gathering round as we saw a boat submerge from the river and a few creatures coming down to the run way almost running over Hagrid. I love magic. Just seeing it all made it much better than any muggle could believe. We were laughing as Hagrid tried to get back up. The boat seemed dark and gloomy but it looked like a royal boat, something a dark king would own. My kind of guy. I mean whoever they were knew how to arrive in style!
  9. Being back in my robes and safely back at Hogwarts, Dumbledore announced that not only would Hogwarts be our home for this year but also two other schools would be staying with us. Hogwarts had been chosen to be the host of the Triwizard tournament. A competition to find the best wizard from three different schools. Everyone was listening in as the first school came in as the BeauxBaton School for magic came in. A tonne of girls came in all in blue and all girly. Dancing and releasing blue butterflies everywhere. With every "Ahh" they'd lean back and the boys would turn their heads. Suddenly Madam Maxine their headmistress came in, she was taller than Hagrid, and to us that was saying something. Seamus was staring and he had commented first on her height. The elegant dancers were splitting into two lines. All the lads were amazed by the girls and Hermione and I were just rolling our eyes. The next school were apparently friends from the north, "The proud sons of Durmstrang and their high master Igor Karagroch" They were more about noise fire and macho men. "Bloody Hell it's him, it's Victor Krum." It was HIM! I was absolutely stunned, even Hermione. It was THE VICTOR KRUM. Well... this was definitely going to be a VERY different year at Hogwarts.

Those idiots I swear they'd just always get themselves into trouble. Mr Crouch, the same man who was in charge of figuring out who created the dark mark at the quidditch match was here to make sure everything was fine. A storm raged in the roof but Mad eye moody the aura stopped it before it got out of control. We were all talking about how he caught dark wizards for his time was spent putting them in Azkaban. We were all discussing how he was meant to be as mad as a hatter. Drinking something that was definitely not pumpkin juice. For this year the ministry of magic had decided that anyone under 17 wasn't allowed to put their name into the cup. Fred and George weren't too keen on this new rule, neither were the majority of people in our houses. Dumbledore shut us all up by unveiling the goblet of fire. It was magnificent, blue flames and golden decorations. It was left where it was available to everyone. The way to know who was going to be taking part in the tournament. It was obvious Cedric was going to put his name in even if Dumbledore was telling people it wasn't safe. "If chosen, there is no turning back" Put me off for another two years anyway.

He chose Neville for the next one and then he asked for the next curse. He was then to show us the Cruciatus curse. He pulled Neville up to the front still terrified as to what he was going to be made to do. This was the torture curse and he was bothering Neville by doing it. "Stop it! Can't you see it's bothering him? Stop it!" I called to him. So he picked on me to tell him the next one, the last one. The killing curse. I refused to say it so he just called it anyway. "Avada Kedava" As he killed the spider thing he then called on Harry as the only one to survive this curse.

  14. Hermione and I were watching over Neville as he was called to tea by mad eye after class. Watching over everyone putting their names in to the Goblet of fire was the next thing on my agenda, all of us had planned to go see who was up for it. Someone I recognised was dragged over and being pulled over by his mates, it was Cedric. All of his friends who came to see him put his name in were cheering him on and pressuring him to just do it. He was soaked from the rain, his hair stuck down and he braced himself and put his name in. As he came out of the age line to stop idiots like Fred and George getting in he joined his mates and looked over to me and gestured for me to come over. "Hermione I will see you later yeah? I'm just going to borrow some notes off somebody." Hermione looked up and knew where I was going "Yeah that's what I'll tell the boys, see you after you've hung out with Cedric." I walked away as I closed my book and left it with her. "Hey" He waved at me with his voice ringing in my ears, "Hi" I just shuffled over as he introduced me to the others. Out of nowhere the twins were running in calling with two potions in their hands. People were cheering them and Hermione was telling them that their potions weren't going to cheat Dumbledore's age line. They drunk up and put both their names into the flames. Things were working out till they were chucked up out of the line looking like old men with old beards and were fighting rolling around. Every second their beards grew longer as they fought. Victor Krum came in. He looked terrifying and was as strict looking as his head master. Flashing Hermione a smile, he placed his name into the goblet. "Should we head outside?" Cedric was split from his friends as everyone cheered on the fight going on. Nodding, I followed him out into the night as the rain had come to a halt. "So, you know there has to be a ball with the tournament. As in a ball where there's dancing and music an" I cut him off before he could finish "Yes Cedric I do know what the Yule ball is, what about it?" I laughed at how he just seemed stunned I cut him off "Well..... I was hoping you wouldn't mind, well going with me?" Cedric was twiddling his thumbs as they danced like they would at the ball as he didn't realise, "Isn't it a bit early?" Cedric looked back up as I came to stand back in front of him "I'm sorry I mean quite a few of the guys I know were hoping to ask you, I wanted to get there before they did". He was about to turn away as I thought about what he meant. I grabbed his arm as he was already facing away from me ready to walk in "I didn't say no though did I?" He was shocked, "Wait does this mean yes?" He was trying to hide how happy he was, "Yes..." My words echoed for him and he picked me up and swung me round "Thank you!" He was laughing along with me as I liked how I could make him so happy. As I knew him for three years already I didn't know he could even be THIS happy. The clock chimed and we held hands as we walked in swinging our arms back and forth. I thought nothing of it but before anyone saw us he turned to say to keep it secret till anyone asked me or when everyone started asking other people. He must have meant something of it. We made a pinkie promise and headed inside to see who would be chosen for the tournament.
  15. Dumbledore darkened the room and as the fire grew red it spurted out a folded piece of parchment reading "Victor Krum" Of course it would be him. The next one was in a blue bit of origami and read "Fleur Delacour". For Hogwarts it was "Cedric Diggory", I was so, so happy for him, We were all cheering for him and I couldn't believe I was friends with a champion, but then realising that the dangers to come were going to come true for him, it started to make me feel as if he could end up in real trouble if things were to go wrong. My head felt strange and I got the feeling I always got when trouble was around the corner. I cheered as he was chosen, knowing I was to be dancing with a champion. They were taken away to an office but then the goblet went crazy, spewing yet another name out, someone no one expected. Harry Potter. Dumbledore called for him, over and over and he wasn't getting any happier. Everyone was murmuring and Ron wasn't in a good mood. I looked back at him and he was looking at me astounded and mortified his best friend hadn't told him. We had to get him up and pushed him towards the front.
  16. "Crud, what now?" We left and I found Cedric to find out what had happened. Harry came back and said he had to compete. Even though he WAS only a 4th year. We were shocked. Terrified what would happen. Harry was having a hard time from Ron. "Look I'm sure you two will be fine" Harry was with me till everyone was off to bed. In the Gryffindor Common room Harry and I were talking. "Iris, I'm going to need you there for me. You always have been and now you're just the one I need now. Ron is so mad with me and I just need you to be there when I'm stuck and when I'm hoping to have help from you. I better go to bed but listen. Thank you anyway." He left me in the common room by the fire concerned for his safety. Falling asleep by the fire I stayed there all night only to be awoken by Ron coming in. "Sorry Iris I thought I was alone. Are you okay?" I had just been woken up by him and then he looked concerned for me. "Yeah I'm sorry I must have fallen asleep earlier. Look please just don't be too hard on him." He walked away and the next day Hermione got pissed off with the pair of them for using the two of us as owls as those two weren't talking.
  17. I spent the next day with Cedric, people were wearing badges and taking the mick of Harry. I was sitting on a stone bench and had Cedric using my lap as his pillow. His mates were chucking him food to catch in his mouth and every now and then I'd grab a bit of popcorn or a jelly bean being chucked to him only to have him wrestle me for it. I would usually just raise my hand up and he'd sit up and pull me towards him and tickle me. "Come on Ced stop flirting!" His friend James Tuccket was laughing as he was the one to tell Cedric i was ticklish. "Cedric get off, i'm falling!" I was laughing so i hard as he tickled me reaching for the piece of pumpkin pasty that had been thrown straight for him. "Give it then! I'll leave you if you stop nicking my food" With that i just ignored him and shoved it in my mouth as we wrestled a bit more and he went back to resting his head on my lap . As I was with Cedric, Harry pulled him away to tell him about the dragons. Cedric told people not wear the badges but no one had listened. I had spent all day mucking about with Cedric, we joked around as i got to know his friends. I guess after the small split of our group due to the argument between Harry and Ron it was good to finally meet more people from other houses. Still wrestling over food and making jokes about certain rumours going on around school we noticed Harry and Draco arguing when out of nowhere mad eye had turned Draco into a ferret and was making him fly. Cedric and I were laughing at how Draco ran off when Alastor chased him round the tree. I wanted to talk to Draco but he just avoided me. I was sitting with Cedric and other Hufflepuff 6th years were with him along with some others I couldn't remember the names of. Cedric had become quite popular with people at Hogwarts due to being chosen. The other 6th years were laughing at the badges they all wore. I refused to wear one even though they kept telling me to. "Harry is one of my best friends here I'm not going to show him up wearing one of those badges." They considered not wearing theirs after that. Funny how they actually listened to me and not Cedric. Guess they needed a girl in the group. "Come on we might as well walk round the grounds" Cedric jumped up and we went for a walk as the whole group laughing and joking as Cedric gave me a piggy back. We were racing each other round the walk ways. "COME ON JAMES!" a lad in 5th year called Billy McGee was on James' back as we raced to and fro. We reached the court yard again as we went round the whole day messing about. We must have all eaten at least a whole trolley full of sweets and bottled fizzy drinks and butter beer. I could now trust his friends for their secret stashes of sweets. They bought so many when they had trips to Hogsmeade and on the train to last them the whole year. Now I was going to help Cedric plan his way through the first task. God you have no idea how scared i was for him!
  18. The first challenge came out of nowhere and I snuck into the champion's tent to go see Cedric and Harry. Hermione was seeing Harry so I ran over to Cedric wrapped my arms around his neck "Even if you get burnt you'll still have a pretty face. Don't worry I'm sure you'll be fine" and I disappeared before I was caught in the tent like Hermione was. After they had all completed the task I ran off to find Cedric who was with Madame Pomfrey who had to apply orange paste to his face due to a burn. He had turned a rock into a Labrador to distract the dragon. As it lost interest Cedric grabbed the egg and ran but got burnt as he tried to get away. "Hey, you okay?" I wandered in front of him and he looked up ashamed "Hey" He was now looking up and was allowed to take off the paste "See, told you that you would still have a pretty face" He was wiping the paste off as I crouched beside him and with that he followed me out. "Want to hear the clue?" Cedric was showing me the golden egg he was able to grab. "Already heard Harry open it, it's ghastly!" He laughed at me and gestured for me to come closer, "you have to open it under water. I was told by mad eye. But don't tell anyone that bit, I'll tell Harry as a thank you for warning me about the dragons." Cedric and I spent hours together after that and a few weeks later were finally told about the Yule Ball.
