Test said I was from the west. I am from Maine, the total opposite of accents. Can't say to much about the accuracy of this test!!

It says I have a midland accent however I was born in CA, moved to IL when I was 7 and then to MD when I was 9, went to WI for a year when I was 18 and I've gone to TX many times. So I guess it's right lol

It said Philadephia but I'm from New Orleans. Should have asked about my, Lord, Bible and other words to bring out Deep South accent.
-
I have lived on the West Coast the majority of my life. The quiz gave me a Philadelphia accent 100%. Find that a little bit funny.
-
I am English and have an English accent. This quiz says I come from The northwest of America.
THis quiz is a bit rubbish then isn't it?

In my speech "on" doesn't sound like either "don" or "dawn". It sounds like "own". I'm from Georgia but your quiz thought I was from Philly. I've never been there.
-
I am midland. Accent-less. My mother is from the Philipines my dad,Mississippi, and me,Indiana. My mom has broken english. So if she says filling she says feeling.

I got the West even though I am from the Midwest and have lived in the Northeast for over half my life. Still stand by my responses.

Yes, from Pittsburgh area and was once told that is the "best" accent. When in NY, people could pick out midwest. When I returned to visit McKeesport, Pa. they said I was talking like a New Yrker.
-
I am a 5th generation Texan but did live in the Midwest in the 1970s and I was kidded all the time about my accent. Maybe age has helped.

Right on target. Born in AZ, lived in AZ, KY, OH, IN, IL, MI, NE, MA, and Iran, but no matter the various places I've lived during my life, the quiz pegged me correctly as "Western" accent.

I'm from Houston, educated in New England, but quiz said I was from Pennsylvania.
Seem s totally off base to me!

I did the quiz and quite a lot of people think, like the quiz, that I come from the north east. In fact, my accent is English. I am from the north west of England but I have been in the USA for a while now.

To me, the name "Mary" and the verb "marry" sound exactly the same. The quiz does not permit choosing that option, though.

Pinned me down to a "T" - thought that I lost it. I was born in New York City but raised in Port Chester, N.Y. on the Connecticut border. For the past 40 years lived in the SouthWest.
