@hot n heavy the amount of radiation a person absorbs to become a ghoul not only makes the sterile(not able to sexually reproduce) but stops the aging process as well making ghouls invulnerable to old age. also the lone wanderer leaves the vault 3 years after his 16 birthday which would make him 19.
