Okay, so I want to get in shape. I've been trying to get in shape for many, MANY years now because I've always been a little chubby but the simple ones like push ups and crunches don't always work for me or give me the results I want...
I don't want to look anorexic, I don't want to be some overly muscular freak.. I just want to look lean and healthy. I'm mainly looking towards thighs, abs and arms.
Are there any exercises or websites you could recommend that I check out?

I've been preparing for the float trip I'm going on (I was really sore at the end) by lifting some 5-pound weights in a rowing position.
I've been just improving in general by holding both in one hand to make 10 pounds and lifting it 50 times each arm.
I don't know if that will help but it's been working for me. -

Run. Drink buttloads of water and run at a comfortable pace that you can keep up for 20-30 mins. It's boring, but I guess Ipods for music to bring along would make it slighty more entertaining.

Dance and work out videos. :3 You learn dance moves while getting in shape.

Yeah, that's a really good idea. I personally hate dancing, but yeah, that offers a great workout.

Don't starve yourself, eat breakfast! Without enough foods you're metabolism will get slower and you will get weaker. You must eat every food group in a day. Food gives you the energy to EXERCISE and LOSE WEIGHT. Calories are like batterys, they give you energy. STAY AWAY from trans fat, because it is solid material that can clog your arteries and give you a high risk of a heart attack. -which is not good- Stay away from saturated fats, they're as bad as trans fat. Eating foods with fats is not a bad thing. There are good fats and bad fats. If you have too much fat in a day your body will store them. -Meat has a lot of protien, but you're not suppose to have a lot in one day.Â
***Since you're saying your chubby, READ THIS CAREFULLY, all the extra fat that's stored in your body can go away if you exercise, why? Because the more you exercise, the more you need food and fat for the energy. So if you exericise a lot, you're body is going to need that fat for energy.
You're mom is extreme right? Well tell her about how you want to lose weight and maybe she'll do something out of the ordinary that involves lots of running ^_^ -

i lose weight very easily and have been trying to gain weight so i can help. I went on a website that said if you want to gain weight you should eat more caleries than you burn. So to lose weight and get in shape you should burn more caleries than you eat. And eat foods with less caleries and fat. You should do sports, run, play wii games like wii fit and wii sports, and also stretch more. I hope this helped. Sorry if it didnt or if another post said the same thing

Lay off the sugar and fatty foods, stretch every morning and do some push ups, sit ups, chin ups, burpies and such. Try and set a personal best for yourself.
Also, eating healthy really does work wonders... not necessarily eating less :)
Get active! Sports and running, even if it's a light jog, can go a long way...

tongue AdvancedThere's an app for the iPhone where you can track calories. It will designate a number for you based on your activity level, your current weight, and the number of pounds you want to lose each week. Also it is imperative to get in 30 minutes of cardio each day. Jogging is probably the easiest way to get that, though you'll have to train yourself to get to the point where you can do that for an extended period of time. Hope that helps. :)
