Is swimming like, not considered a sport? :/ I'm on a swim team in the summer called the Marlins (it's a fish...), but when I talk about people are like "What's a swim team?"

And some of my friends were talking about sports they played, so I said swimming, and they all pretty much ignored me except for one who told me swimming wasn't a sport.
I said it was, and then she said "Splashing around in the water isn't a sport".
Well, it's not just splashing around. :/
I have a swim meet (basically a race/competition thingy) once a week.
Trust me, it's more than random splashing. After a 50 or whatever I'm doing, I've been too exhausted to get out of the pool before. xP
So maybe I'm just too sensitive. xD But seriously, is swimming like, not considered a sport? D: -

Golf. I know its hard to play, but your never in those situations of incredibly hardcore training. Your simply swinging at a ball. There's no one trying to impede that, it's just you. Swimming IS a sport. You haave to be physically fit to swim on a regular basis. -
Do Golfers not need accuracy and strength in the arms to hit the ball with the right force and in the right dircetion. SO I think it IS a Sport. So's swimming you shgould tell your freinds to try it Nakita, it's one of the most challenging sports in history. Well done for defending what you love

Really, other sports require much more skills other than strength and accuracy. That's pretty much the same with any sport.

Really, in golf that fastest speed you go at is like 10 mi/hr and that's in a cart taking you to your next hole because your too lazy to walk the distance.
