Thread Topic: I need some advice in running.
-
a nice user NewbieAt my school, they make us run for gym. I love how they now separate us int two groups: On the track team and not on th track team. AKA Fast and slow. I'm not on the track team. I usually rank in about fifth place. That would be good for me. Only one problem: I'M THE FIFTH FASTEST SLOW PERSON! I hate it. I need running tips, now. I do best on one lap around a football track, butI've only tried that and two laps. On two I coul've sworn my throat was bleeding and I almost threw up.. but my time was 4:50. Anyway, help on long distance or sprint. Whatever.
Sorry it was so long. PLEASE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE! -
Here are some general tips:
-Land on your toe or midfoot NOT on your heel
-Wear real running sneakers
-If it's cold still wear long pants/tights and a long-sleeved shirt
-BREATHE
-Focus on running the straight-aways hard and coasting on the turns
-Also pass people on the straight-aways, not the turns
-Drink a lot of water during the day leading up to your run, but not right before running
-Tie your shoes tighter
-And most of all...enjoy running! Running is run!
