Does anyone follow MMA?
A little ways back Weidman fought Silva for the championship and came out on top. Now anyone familiar with MMA knows that Silva is the most widely recognized fighter as being the best in the world.
While it doesn't mean he actually is, it suggests that taking him down was no small feat.
So we're hearing some mixed talk about a rematch now...UFC wants one, and Silva's still not to into it, but if there was a rematch held today, and both fighters walked in what do you think would happen?
To be honest, I called the outcome of the first fight the second I read Weidmans statement of the challenge. MANY people recognized how complacent The Spiders become and when Weidman showed so much confidence and determination, it was clear to me who would walk away with the belt. As far as I can see, Weidman is still going strong with the willpower, and Silvas still got one foot in retirement.
To my mind, nothings changed since the first fight between them, and I predict the outcome of a rematch would be like the outcome of the first fight.
Any opinions out there?
