tongue NewbieMichael Vick went to prison 3 years ago. Now he's starting again in the NFL for the Eagles, and he may be the MVP of the league this season.
I know there will be some people who will react negatively, but I think this is a great story. Vick has shown a sincere remorse for his actions. He's done good work with the Humane Society to combat animal cruelty and to educate people about it. More than anything, he's grown up. He's realized that he can't fool around anymore and that he can't take his career in the NFL, or anything else, for granted. -
Is this the guy I heard like beat a dog really badly? If so I say its ok for him to go back to football after I stomp right on his balls like ten times and smash all his fingers with a hammer, then the Eagles can have him.
-
tongue NewbieI guess my appeal in Michael Vick's defense didn't convince you. Yes, he was the one involved in dogfighting. But here's something to chew on: does physically abusing Michael Vick make you any better than him for what he did?
-
Yes
-
tongue NewbieNot really the answer I was looking for, but whatever. Here's another question: who's worse- Michael Vick or rapists like Kobe Bryant and Ben Roethlisberger?
-
tongue NewbieWell technically, Kobe and Ben were never charged, but it looks like something happened in both cases. Both women were about 20 and are probably both still alive.
-
Well then they just had a really bad experience and its not like they're 12 so it could have been alot worse. With this Vick he forced dogs to actually kill eachother multiple times and the ones that live become more and more visious. I say this vick is a b---- and even if he acts like he's no longer like that then its a lie if thats the person he is he's not just going to up and change cause he got in trouble he hopefully won't do it again but I bet he probably wants to. I don't buy that Oh I've seen the error of my ways crap for a second.
-
tongue NewbieI'm guessing your kind of into animal rights and everything. Me, I guess harming a human being is more appalling to me than harming animals, though I don't think either is morally acceptable. And in either case, I'd forgive either crime if the criminal served their punishment and truly showed they were reformed. Michael Vick has done that. There are criminals who have harmed people who've also shown they've been reformed. Tookie Williams founded the Crips and was sentenced to death for murdering 4 people. On death row, he wrote children's books denouncing gang violence. He certainly wasn't faking it- he was on death row and had nothing to gain.
-
tongue NewbieOne other thing: Michael Vick isn't your average criminal. Most criminals have nothing to lose by going to jail. Michael Vick lost everything when he went to jail. Losing everything and having to gain it all back changes a person.
-
If anything the fact that he had so much to lose and did it anyway shows how much he loved that sick violence and how he still probably misses seeing dogs fight for their lives. Like so freaking many people out there are less deserving of life than the little innocent animals that have all the bad things humans do done to them. I don't just like animals as much as people I like them better.
-
tongue NewbieYea, I could tell you were into animals. Me, I put people first, the way it should be done.
As for your last point, it's not so much that Michael Vick didn't care about what he has to lose so much as he got stupid.
Frankly I'm pissed that people like you want to crucify him. Not only are you wrong, but in advocating for humane treatment of animals, you've lost your humanity towards human beings.
I'll just say it straight: YOU ARE A GODDAMN HYPOCRITE -
Tongue YOU ARE A GODDAMN UNCARING ASS. Animals are better than people, the fact that you say, "I put people first, the way it should be done." shows how stuck up humans are and something that full of s--- and biassed is not worthy of life next to an animal. Michael vick is a douchebag murderer.
-
tongue NewbieYou really didn't help your case at all. And it's not that don't care about animals- I just care about people more. I was appalled when I first heard about what Vick was doing. You should've heard some of the people who were defending him. Clinton Portis, another NFL star, famously said "It's just a dog". That's worse than anything I could say.
-
I still hate the fact that he's not on my team anymore.
-
tongue ExperiencedQuit your b----ing Joe. The Falcons have the best record in the NFC.
