‘I know. Kinda. Why do you ask?’

"I-I guess it's been on my mind a lot lately, because I had a dream about you leaving...." Lavender buried her head in her hands. "I sound so pathetic."

Maeve held her close. ‘You’re not pathetic,’ she said softly. ‘I’m not leaving. Unless you do something, like, really bad.’

"Like what?" Lavender looked up at her.

‘I dunno. Kill someone,’ Maeve laughed nervously, snuggling close. ‘I’m not just gonna up and betray you, okay?’

"Okay." Lavender mumbled, snuggling close. She felt bad for being so paranoid.

Maeve hugged her close.

Lavender held onto her tightly. "Thanks for putting up with me."

‘You’re saying that like you’re hard to put up with.’

"I'm a f---ing mess." Lavender mumbled.

‘No you’re not. You’re amazing.’

Lavender looked up at her. "You're too nice." She mumbled.

‘And you’re too hard on yourself. We’re the perfect pair,’ Maeve said happily.

"Why are you so nice?" Lavender mumbled accusingly, as if being nice was a bad thing. -
‘Pfft, should I be mean?’ Maeve giggled, snuggling closer.
