Richard nodded, immediately hiding under it.
"Can I come in or not?" Viktor sounded irritated. -
‘Just a second!’ Caleb said, waiting until Richard was settled. He fixed his clothes to make it look like he hadn’t been snuggling with the prince. ‘Uh, yeah, come in!’

Viktor walked in. "What did you tell Richard I said?" He snapped immediately. He looked Caleb up and down, like he was trying to see if he was guilty of something.

Caleb glanced at him. ‘E-Excuse me?’

"He acted like I punched you. What did you say to him?" Viktor's eyes wandered to the papers Caleb was working on, like they'd have evidence.

‘I mean, you kinda look like you wanted to- … nevermind. I just told him the truth.’

"This never would've happened if you had the common sense to separate friends and allies." Viktor kept his eyes on the papers, eyebrows raising.

‘Hey! I know what I’m doing,’ Caleb snapped. ‘Plus, it was Richard who asked me out, so there-‘

"Do you? Because from what it seems, you're doing an awful job at showing you do!" Viktor ignored the last bit.

‘I do not! I’m great at my job!’

"Then you wouldn't be talking back to someone willing to sign a treaty with you."

‘What are you gonna do, then, just not sign it? You realise this treaty is more beneficial to you than to me, right?’

Viktor chuckled in the way adults do when little kids say something stupid, smirking.

‘What was that?! I’m an adult, not some stupid teenager!’

"Keep arguing with me and you'll find out what I'll do, how about that?" Viktor snapped.
