Caleb smiled, playing with his hair.

Richard let him.

Caleb grinned.

Richard leaned into him..

Caleb snuggled close. He was about to say something, when there was a knock at the door.

Richard pulled away the second he heard the knock.

Caleb let him. ‘Come in!’ he called.
It was an old man, at least in his 60s, holding a piece of paper. ‘Sire, what on earth have you been doing? Your completed work has decreased by 10%!’
Caleb’s smile faltered. ‘I-I didn’t realise.’ -
Richard looked down, trying to act as though he wasn't even in the room.

‘You didn’t answer my question.’
Caleb sighed. ‘I-‘
‘We can’t have you galavanting around, doing God knows what! I want this fixed by this evening, you understand!’
Caleb rubbed his temples. ‘Yep.’ -
The man looked like he wanted to say more, but settled with that and left.

Caleb sighed in relief.

Richard leaned into him slightly.

Caleb let him.

Richard smiled gently.

Caleb hugged his knees to his chest, trying not to look too upset.
