c1 is a sea god/dess. in the midst of their sea lies a small coastal town, where a man and his son catch an exotic sea creature and kill it for trophy. however, this creature belonged to c1, in their royal guard. c1, in anger, says that one of them must take the place of the creature—but the father offers his daughter, c2, instead.
originally, c1 planned on turning the father or son into a sea creature to take the empty place in the guard, but as c2 has done nothing, c1 simply whisks her away from her uncaring family to live underneath the sea. at first, c2 is petrified, but as time passes, the two gain a connection. what could become of this? -

Mazarine had been speaking with one of her royal guards when the tragedy had taken place. He had come to her with concern about more and more fishing taking place nearby, and as they visited the scene, Mazarine could never imagine that her guard would be struck. She generally refuses to come into contact with anything above the water surface, but in this situation, she was desperate for justice for the poor soul she had once known.
Giving a choice to the two culprits of which one would volunteer to take her guard's place as a sea creature in her guard, an unexpected decision was made; the men did not offer themselves, but a young woman they were close to. Mazarine was struck by the sight of this—humans proved to be so cruel.
She did indeed take the girl, but to provide her escape from the cruelty of her loved ones. The goddess whisked the woman under the surface of the sea, now introducing her to the beauty below land.
"So, what do you think?" -
“It’s- Wow, it’s beautiful,” Charlotte spoke, a small smile tugging at her lips. “More beautiful than anything I’ve seen in ages~“ She looked around, her smile growing little by little. She paused, looking back over at the, might she add, drop-dead gorgeous sea goddess. “But, uhm, just a- a quick question- How am I breathing underwater?!” She asked, panic seeping into her voice.
