Clay smiled and out the movie on, hugging George close. He rested his head on the brunette’s shoulder, humming softly with content.
-
George smiled, resting his head on top of Clay’s.
-
“How was the rest of your day?” Clay asked softly, rubbing George’s side with his thumb.
-
“Fine,” George shrugged. “A lot of work. How about you?”
-
“Probably about the same, a lot of studying and work and stuff,” Clay said, exhaling softly. “I’m glad I have at least some downtime, so I can take a breather.”
-
“Yeah,” George said softly. “What are you even studying?”
-
“Well, I do like homeschool stuff instead of going to a public school,” Clay spoke, crossing his ankles, “and then just- learning about how to be a good king, and what I’m supposed to know to y’know, rule the kingdom or whatever-“ He sighed softly, rubbing the side of his face with his free hand.
-
“Wait- hold on, how old are you?” George paused.
-
“Eighteen, about to be nineteen,” Clay replied, lifting his head. “Technically I’m supposed to be in college now or whatever, but I uh, was held back a grade- Kind of my own fault, honestly,” he added, chuckling softly.
-
“Well- s---, I’m about to be twenty-three,” George said awkwardly, meeting eyes with Clay.
-
“YOU-“ Clay covered his mouth with his hand, covering an awkward grin. “Well, s---- Uh-“ He laughed softly, watching George for a moment. “You seriously don’t look like you’re almost twenty-three,” he said, not sure what else to say.
-
George flushed bright red, covering his face with his hands, chuckling awkwardly. “Thank you- this is awkward as f---. I promise, I’m not a weirdo-“
-
“No, no, I- I’m not thinking that, I promise,” Clay said with a chuckle, rubbing George’s side with his thumb. “I mean, it’s only a like, four, five year age gap, right? It’s not so bad~” He spoke softly, holding the brunette close.
-
“I guess so,” George chuckled awkwardly. “I mean- you’re just a baby! I mean- no offense, but-“
-
“Uh, rude!” Clay exclaimed, laughing softly. “But like, I really donjt have an issue with it- My parents have like, a 5 or 6 year age gap,” he said, shrugging a little. “Same with my grandparents on my dad’s side. Doesn’t really bother or worry me~”
