“I think my dad is, but uh, not around to see him dance,” Connor said with a shrug. He paused, chuckling. “Not around as in he doesn’t live with us, not- not as in he’s dead- Just wanted to clarify,” he added, laughing softly.

“Oh, right, I knew that,” Evan said softly, squeezing Connor’s hand. “But is your mom not? Did you get the- the good dancing genes from your dad?” He said, chuckling softly.

“Nah, she’s terrible-“ Connor said with a chuckle, rubbing the back of Evan’s hand with his thumb. “Definitely got it from my dad. I’ve heard that he was a good dancer though, and so was his mother.”

Evan chuckled. “Wow, throwing your mom under the bus, huh?”

“Hey, I mean she said it first, so,” Connor said with a soft laugh, glancing over at Evan. “What about you, can you dance?”

“Uh, nah, not really,” Evan said with a chuckle, shrugging. “I kinda like dancing, but my arms and legs don’t really listen-“

"Pfft- that's fair," Connor said with a chuckle, gently squeezing Evan's hand. He hummed softly to the music, staring out at the road in front of him.

“Maybe you could teach me? Give me a few pointers?” Evan said with a chuckle, glancing over to Connor.

"Totally~" Connor said with a smile, looking over at Evan. "I mostly just freestyle, which is fun because you can kinda just- come up with whatever the f--- you want."

Evan smiled a little, nodding in understanding. “That’s cool! I feel like I’d have to have a set like- y’know, thing Im doing.”

"Mm, that's fair," Connor replied with a nod. "That's kind of what I do, though, like- I make up moves and whatever, than sort of plan it out? Like, I'll say I'll do this specific move on this like or whatever, til the end."

Evan nodded, humming quietly. “That makes sense. Did you ever go into like, competitive dance?”

"Oh God no," Connor said, laughing. "I really mostly do it for fun- It's like therapy, but free, y'know?"

“Ah, gotcha,” Evan said with a chuckle, nodding. “Would you ever consider it?”

"I mean, maybe- Most of what I avoid is all the competition and drama that's involved with it," Connor said, running his free hand through his hair. "I mean, c'mon, have you seen Dance Moms? That's why JoJo Siwa's a psychopath now-"
