“I don’t know, I just- I really f---ing like him, but- if he’s just gonna mess with me and- and toy with my feelings, why even try?” Clay said, sighing softly. “Because, I- I really, really like him, Nick. And I- I want to tell him how I feel, but- I also don’t wanna lose him as my friend-“
-
“I get that, just, I dunno, give him a couple weeks?” Nick said with a chuckle. “Some people don’t catch feelings as quickly as you might.”
-
Clay paused and thought for a moment, sighing. “Right, yeah- I- I’m rushing this, aren’t I?” He said with an awkward chuckle, rubbing his face with his hand.
-
“Maybe a little bit,”’Nick said with a laugh, looking back at him.
-
“I knew it,” Clay said with an awkward chuckle, looking over at Nick. He sighed, resting his hands on his chest. “I’ll wait, then. As long as it takes,” he spoke quietly, a small smile on his face.
-
“Okay, maybe don’t get too attached,” Nick said with a chuckle, looking over at Clay.
-
“I think it’s already too late,” Clay said with an awkward chuckle, putting his hands behind his head.
-
“Oh dear God,” Nick said with a groan, chuckling. “Jesus, Nick, you sound like a dying elephant,” George said as he came back outside, opting to sit on the porch swing rather than get attacked by Clay again.
-
“PFFT- Real,” Clay said, laughing. He sat up, a bit disappointed to see George on the swing instead of on the hammock. But, I mean, he did attack him on the hammock, so he’s not surprised.
-
“Well, you don’t sound much better,” George said with a laugh, sipping on some water he found.
-
“I sound beautiful, I don’t know what you’re talking about~” Clay joked, chuckling.
-
“Oh, shut up, George said with a chuckle, crossing his arms. “Oh, s---, yeah, I forgot,” Nick said after a beat of silence. “The new acai place just opened up on Main street, the one that’s been in the making for like, two years. We have to go-“
-
“Totally, yeah,” Clay said with a chuckle, nodding. “Sounds fun.”
-
“Okay, let’s go then, get off your lazy asses,” Nick said with a chuckle, standing up and heading to the porch to grab George.
-
“f--- off, I’m still fighting a hangover headache,” Clay jokingly whined, sitting up. “I had waaay too much to drink last night- I don’t know how I didn’t throw up.”
(may be heading out here in a bit, going bowling for my sisters’ b-day :DD)
