“Shut up,” Clay said with a chuckle, gently squeezing George’s hand. -

“You shut up~” George said with a chuckle. “But seriously, what do you even read then?” -
“Honestly not much, I’m not a huge fan of reading,” Clay replied, rubbing the back of George’s hand. “I’m also a pretty slow reader, so it’s kinda hard for me to really get into it-“

“Mm, gotcha,” George said with a slow nod.

“I mean, I don’t hate reading or anything,” Clay said, shrugging. “Just kind of hard for me to pay attention.”

“Okay, okay,” George nodded. “Did me reading it help at all?”

“A bit, yeah,” Clay replied, nodding. “It’s like- In class at school, I can read a book pretty easily, but then like, as soon as I get home and try to read it, it becomes like, impossible for some reason-“

“Ahh, gotcha,” George nodded. “If you like/ go to a library after school, could you read there?”

“Mm, I don’t know,” Clay said with another shrug, running his free hand through his hair. “I think it’s like, I can read better when someone’s reading it? I don’t know if that makes any sense or not-“

“Nah, that makes pretty good sense,” George said with a shrug, looking over at Clay.

Clay nodded, a small smile on his face. “I think it just like, helps me focus better on the book or something,” he added with a shrug, gently squeezing George’s hand.

“Well, I can help you read if you want~” George said in a low voice, grinning teasingly.

“Mm, really, Georgie~?” Clay said with a low chuckle, leaning closer to George.

“Yes, idiot,” George said with a chuckle, pressing a kiss onto Clay’s lips.

Clay smiled and kissed George back, holding him close.
