Clay nodded, lifting his head. “What’re you making?” He asked, letting go of his leg and leaning against the counter.
-
“Uh- I dunno what it’s called but I saw it on facebook and its sausage and roasted peppers,” Clays mom said, moving to the medicine cabinet and searching through it for a second.
-
“Ooh, sounds good,” Clay said with a small smile, nodding. “I might go wake George up, see how he’s doing.”
-
“Hold on a second,” Clays mom said, pausing for a moment before pulling out a small bottle. “See if these could help- this would be the best we have.” She said, walking over and placing the bottle on the counter.
-
“Got it, thanks,” Clay replied with a small smile, nodding as he took the pill bottle. He moved out of his chair and walked back over to George’s room, opening the door. He walked over to the bed and crouched down, gently rubbing the brunette’s arm to wake him up.
-
George groaned as he woke, stuffing his face more into the pillow before he realized someone was rubbing his arm and he jolted awake. His head shot up, quickly realizing where he was and who was there. “f---, you scared me-“
-
“s---- Sorry, I didn’t mean to,” Clay said with a quiet chuckle, standing up straight. “My mom has some medicine for you, hopefully it’ll help.” He set the pill bottle on the bedside table, watching George for a moment.
-
“Mm, okay,” George mumbled, picking up the bottle and reading it for a moment. “I’ll try it. I’ve never heard of it before. But- is it okay if I stay in here until it goes away? Your mom wouldn’t be mad, right?”
-
“Yeah, that’s totally fine,” Clay replied, nodding. “Doooo, you want me to sit in here with you, or?”
-
“You can if you want,” George said with a shrug, wincing slightly. “It’s not as bad as before, honestly. But I just don’t think I could handle the lights right now-“ he said, laying back down again and pulling his blanket up again.
-
Clay nodded and sat back down beside George, gently patting his arm. “Sorry you feel so s---ty, dude,” he said softly, exhaling.
-
“It’s okay,” George said quietly. “It’s kinda nice, just getting to sit in a dark room and do nothing for a while, though.”
-
Clay chuckled softly, nodding. “You’re not wrong about that,” he replied, nodding. He laid back down beside George, humming softly as he gently rubbed his arm.
-
George hummed quietly, turning over again to hug onto Clay. “Can you rub my back again?” He asked, his voice barely over a whisper.
-
“Yeah, I can,” Clay said with a chuckle, hugging George close. He proceeded to rub his back, gently scratching his back.
