Evan furrowed his brows, shutting the door behind him. “Hun, what’s wrong? Did something happen?”
-
"He- M-My ex, he- he sent m-me a letter," Connor spoke anxiously, his voice shaky. He fumbled as he pulled the crumpled up paper out of his pocket, unfolding it and handing it to Evan. "H-He said he's- he's out o-of rehab and that he's coming t-to see me- f---, I- I cannot see him, I- I don't want to see him!"
-
Evan scanned over the letter, his heart dropping. “s---, uh,” He thought for a moment. “Maybe we should ask your mom for what she would do? Or- maybe you could come stay at my house for a few nights? To avoid him?” He said, grabbing Connor’s hand and squeezing it.
-
Connor didn't reply, only shaking his head in disbelief. "Why- Why does he w-want to see me- I-" He exhaled shakily as he crouched down, hugging his legs to his chest and burying his face in his knees. "I'm so f---ed..."
-
“Honey, look at me, breathe,” Evan said quickly, crouching down and gently running a hand through his hair. “You’re gonna be okay, nothings gonna happen to you, I promise. Now, has he done this before?”
-
Connor exhaled shakily and lifted his head, tears in his fearful eyes. "Y-Yeah. When we- when we first b-broke up, he- he kept threatening m-me and telling me he w-would sneak into my h-house and-" He let out a choked sob, leaning against Evan. "I- I can't- I can't deal with t-that again..."
-
“Okay, I understand,” Evan said softly, resting his hand on Connor’s cheek. “But what did you do about it? How did it stop?”
-
"He- He never actually c-came to my house, since I-I later found out h-he was sent to rehab," Connor spoke shakily, resting his hand on Evan's. "A-And then the threats st-stopped, and the letters all t-together, but- But now he's c-coming, I just k-know it," he added, tears rolling down his face. "I- I can't see him, I can't b-be in the same room as him, I-" He let out another quiet sob, hugging onto Evan.
-
“Shh, hey, take a breath, we’re gonna figure this out,” Evan said softly, trying to think. “Did- did he say when he’s coming? And could you then stay at my house?”
-
"N-No," Connor replied, burying his face in Evan's shoulder. "I-I'm sure he's just gonna s-show up a-and scare the s--- outta m-me." He exhaled, slightly gripping onto his boyfriend's shirt. "I- I knew this w-would happen, but I- I didn't listen to my gut..."
-
“Okay, okay, breathe for a second, hun,” Evan said softly, struggling to think of something to do. “Honey, can we go talk to your mom about this? I think she knows more and could help more than I can.”
-
Connor nodded, exhaling shakily. "Y-Yeah, you're- you're probably r-right," he mumbled, hugging onto Evan. "Can we just- sit here for a-a minute, though?" He asked softly, lifting his head to look at his boyfriend with teary eyes.
-
“Of course, Connie, baby,” Evan said with a sympathetic smile, wrapping his arms around Connor. “We can sit here for a little while.”
-
Connor nodded and curled close to Evan, trying to calm his breathing. "I'm so scared," he spoke in a whisper, squeezing his eyes shut.
-
“I know, I know,” Evan said softly, rubbing Connor’s back. “I promise, he won’t do anything else to you. You’re okay.”
