Karl giggled softly, nodding. "True," he commented, exhaling. He groaned softly when he heard his parents voices come inside the house, resting his head on his shoulder. "And now, I'm gonna feel like s--- the rest of the day."

“I’m sorry, baby,” Nick said softly, pressing a kiss onto the side of Karl’s head.

"It's okay, it's not your fault," Karl replied, hugging onto Nick for a moment. "I'll- I'll be okay once we get on the road, I'm sure~"

“Yeah,” Nick said with a smile. “Also, I don’t know how we’re getting both the u-haul and our cars there? I could ask my mom to help, because I’m pretty sure she wants to come down and help anyways.”

imsoclueless Senior"Yeah, that's a good idea," Karl nodded in response, cringing as he heard his mother's voice growing louder. "Maybe I should check on my dad," he murmured softly, his hands shaking.

“Hey, I don’t think that’s a great idea,” Nick said quickly , grabbing Karl’s hands. “She’s not gonna like seeing you, okay? And I don’t wanna risk her saying bad things to you,” he whispered, wrapping his arms around Karl. “Do you want me to go down?”

imsoclueless Senior"I- I just want to make sure nothing happens to my dad," Karl murmured, hugging onto Nick. "We- We just started to get along, and I-" He exhaled shakily, burying his face in his boyfriend's neck. "I don't care if she doesn't want to see me, I- I want to make sure he's okay," he said after a moment, lifting his head and letting go of Nick. "I uhm, would feel safer if you came, though."

Nick nodded. “Oh, yeah, that isn’t even a suggestion. I was gonna go with you if you like it or not,” He said, grabbing Karl’s hand.

imsoclueless SeniorKarl giggled softly, taking Nick's hand and walking out of the room. He carefully made his way down the stairs, his parents shouts getting louder. "God, I don't know how you can even live with him! The thought of him sharing a bed with another man is disgusting!" Carly shouted at John, throwing her hands in the air. Karl flinched at her words, his hands shaking. "What's 'disgusting' is that you're even capable of saying something like that about your own f---ing son!" John shouted back, stepping closer to the woman. "You can't say s---, John! 3 months ago, you would've said the exact same thing, so don't you f---ing start!!" "At least I'm taking responsibility for my actions and f---ing APOLOGIZING!" John shouts angrily. Carly flinched at the rise in his voice before stepping close, slapping him across the face. Karl gasped and let go of Nick's hand, rushing down the stairs. He moved over to his dad, anger rising in him. "What the f--- is wrong with you?!" He shouted, his voice trembling.

Nick quickly rushed over there with Karl, standing behind him. “Are you okay?” he quietly asked Karl’s dad as Karl confronted his mother.

"You're the only one here with a f---ing problem. Coming here and slapping my dad!" "Well, it's not my fault you turned out to be a f--, sleeping around with guys!" She shouted and Karl flinched, his hands shaking at her words. "I'm don't sleep around with guys! I'm not like that-" "And yet you're dating a guy! I did not raise you to become someone like- like this!" Karl let out a shout of exasperation, stepping forward. "I don't give a f---! You raised me like s---, you hit me, harassed me, physically and mentally abused me! You have NO right to say s--- like that!"

Nick watched Karl blow up, usually stepping in to stop him, but he let his boyfriend yell. It would probably do less harm than making him stop.

imsoclueless Senior"No wonder you were put in a f---ing mental hospital, you're insane if you think you're in love with guys," Carly said with a bitter chuckle, glaring at Karl. "I went there on my own f---ING accord, no thanks to you!" Karl began to shout, tears filling his eyes. "YOU were the reason my mental health was so s---, YOU were the reason I hated how I looked and would almost starve myself to death, YOU were the reason I almost killed myself when I was fourteen. FOURTEEN! No kid should ever, EVER have to go through what I have!" He let out a choked sob, his legs shaking and threatening to buckle underneath him. "So I'm not your son anymore. I'm not dealing with your s---, and I'm not letting your ruin my life for me." John walked over to Karl and put his arm around his shoulder, glaring at Carly. "And you're not my wife, or his mother. I won't let you hurt him anymore. Get the f--- out of my house." Carly watched them with anger in her eyes before silently turning, walking out of the house with a slam of the front door.

Nick gave a bittersweet smile as he stepped around in front of Karl. “Karl, that was so brave of you. I’m really proud of you for standing up for yourself like that.”

imsoclueless SeniorKarl exhaled shakily and leaned forward, hugging onto Nick. "I thought I was gonna pass out," he said with a short chuckle, resting his head against his boyfriend's chest. "I feel like I should've done more," John spoke with an awkward chuckle, patting Karl's neck. The brunette lifted his head and looked at his dad, smiling through his tears. "Don't feel bad, really. You did great, from what I saw."
