The story begins with two young archaeologists digging in a remote area of a jungle. They have been searching for a lost civilization and are finally getting close to their goal. The duo discovers a hidden temple filled with priceless artifacts and treasures. They are ecstatic and immediately begin to carefully document and remove the precious items.
Soon, they realize that the temple has been looted. Many of the artifacts are missing, and there are obvious signs of recent human activity. The team is devastated, as these artifacts hold a lot of historical and cultural value.
As they try to figure out what could have happened, they stumble upon a clue – a weirdly morbid piece of paper with a strange symbol on it. Luckily, they are really good at translating ancient languages, so they decipher the symbol and realize that it belongs to a notorious criminal dealer known for selling stolen artifacts. What happens next..??

"We're getting so close to finding this thing," Izaiah stated. He leaned against a nearby tree, grabbed his backpack and shuffled through it hastily. ". . .just need a few more hints and clues." Izaiah took a rather long book out of his backpack and started flipping the pages, skimming through each and every paragraph. "Pharaohs, knights, sea monsters... Ah. Lost civilization of the Western Horus Jungle..." He mumbled, reading the book to himself.
-
Kris stood next to Izaiah, and fumbled with the backpack on her shoulder. "I feel like we are getting close too. Hopefully not too much further." She said, maybe a little to chipper. She opened her pack, and pulled out a small notebook that her and Izaiah shared, specifically for this expedition. "Every note we've taken, and other places we have searched have led us all here. We have to be on the right track. Are you finding anything in your book?" She asked, looking at the notepad in her hands as well as glancing at Izaiah's book. Maybe there was something they both were missing.
-
"Yeah, I think I skipped that part," Izaiah said, turning a page back. He found a sentence and pointed at it. "It says In fact, some archaeology organizations have found historical 'evidence' of the lost civilization, however most of the 'evidence' is based off of mythology. So we might find it."
-
Kris flipped through the notebook, past countless drawings and alphanumeric codes. There had to be something in here somewhere. "I think I remember something about following a river? Or was it near a mountain?" She said, questioning. She wanted to find this place as mich as Izaiah, but was growing in doubt. This was her least favorite part of any expedition.
-
"I think we had to cross the river, not follow it. But that's just what I remember," Izaiah said and shook his head, because he had indeed forgotten about that. He felt a wave of disappointment wash over him. "Try looking onto the next few pages. I think we wrote some important notes there." he suggested to Kris.
-
Kris nodded, kept flipping through the notebook hoping to find something of importance. There had to be a map of some sort in here, but the problem was finding it. She had to admit, her note taking skills weren't as good as Izaiahs. As she flipped to the pages, a picture fell out and landed on the ground. She leaned over to pick it up, and smiled. "Hey, you want to see something that might make you happy?" She smirked herself. Maybe Izaiah had forgotten about this picture, but it might improve his spirits.
As she awaited his answer, she flipped to the back of the notebook, finally finding what she needed. It was a small map they had copied from a previous expedition. "And on top of that, I found the map!" She said, handing the notebook to Izaiah, along with the picture, but the picture was face down in the book.
(I thought the picture could be of Izaiah's dogs, if that's okay!)
