“Stop looking at me like that,” Nick said, giggling nervously. He was about to say something else, but a large cat cut him off, jumping onto his lap and meowing loudly. “Well, hello there.”

Karl giggled as the cat jumped onto Nick's lap, smiling. "Aww, such a cutie~"

Nick gave the cat a few pets, giggling as it nuzzled against his hand. Josie came back with the drinks, setting them down in front of them. “Here you go. You guys ready to order?”

Karl nodded and gave the waitress his order, reaching down to pet a cat that began to rub itself against his leg.

“And I’ll have the same,” Nick said with a nod, smiling.
“Awesome! Those’ll be out shortly, if you guys need anything just let me know, okay?” Nick nodded in response, looking back at Karl once the waitress had walked away. -
Karl nodded with a smile, looking back at Nick. "Seriously, I'm so happy to be here with you~"

“I’m happy to be here with you too,” Nick said with a smile, squeezing Karl’s hand. “So, I feel like I haven’t known you for very long. So, uh, do you have any siblings? Where are you from? Y’know, that kinda stuff.”

Karl giggled, nodding. "I guess you're right, we never really did any of that," he commented, twining his fingers with Nick's. "Well, I'm an only child and I grew up in North Carolina, then moved down here when I was in middle school? I don't really remember," he said with a chuckle.

Nick nodded, giggling a little bit. “That’s so cool. Do you mind being an only child? Was that hard?”

“Huh, okay,” Nick said with a chuckle, petting the cat that had draped itself on his lap. “So, since you moved here in… middle school? Do your parents live around here?” -
imsoclueless Senior"Yeah, I wanted to stay close to home so I could visit my parents," Karl replied with a nod, his face turning red. "Hey, I'll admit it, I'd miss my mom and dad if I moved away and couldn't see them."

Nick smiled a little. “No, I totally get that. I think that’s sweet. Do you have a good relationship with your parents?”

“Uh,” Nick paused, pressing his lips and glancing down at the cat. “My mom passed when I was in middle school,” He chuckled awkwardly, glancing g up at Karl again. “And my stepdad tried his best, but I had four brothers, so it was tough.” He paused again, shrugging. “So, not the best relationship, but I’m still in touch with some of my brothers.”
