Nick did a slow clap, giggling a little. “That was pretty cool. I bet you could do those bigger tricks. You one hundred percent would fall on your ass, but I think it’d be hilarious.”
-
Karl blushed, giggling and bowing on the board. "Why thank you, good sir," he joked, smiling. He sighed as he stepped on the edge of the board, flipping it up and swiftly catching it in his hand. "Yeah, I probably could, but I'm still not great at any of the crazy difficult tricks."
-
“How long have you been… yknow, boarding?” Nick paused. “That doesn’t sound right. Skateboarding? Skating? You know, this-“ He gestured to the board on Karl’s hands.
-
(gn!)
-
"Only about a year, year and a half? Somewhere around that time," Karl said with a shrug, hugging the board to his chest. "Like, a while back my friend was skateboarding and I was like, oh that looks fun, and he was like, let me teach you, so I was like, alrighty." He chuckled, tapping his fingers against the board.
(gn mate ^^) -
Nick nodded, yawning quietly. “Excuse me-“ He said in the midst of his yawn, turning away slightly before coming back after he was… y’know, finished yawning. He thought i was the polite thing to do, I guess? “But that’s pretty cool. You look like you’ve been doing it for way longer, honestly.”
-
Karl giggled, crossing his arms over his chest and rubbing his hands against his clothed arms. "I guess so, though I still do have a long way to go. Honestly it still freaks me out, even trying to attempt something bigger than a simple kick flip." He sighed, uncrossing his arms and running a hand through his hair. "I think my biggest fear is breaking a bone," he added with a chuckle, clasping his hands together, "and if I can't use my hand, then I can't paint."
-
“Then break your left one,” Nick giggled. “Seriously though, you probably be really good at these tricks if you try it at least once.”
-
Karl rolled his eyes, crossing his arms again. "Yeah- I mean I do practice, it's just hard," he added, shrugging. He set down the skateboard he was still holding, setting it down on the floor. "So, do you wanna try out a trick? Maybe the running start onto the board, since it's really very easy??"
-
Nick narrowed his eyes. “Sure, let’s go for it.”
-
Karl smiled, setting his foot on the board and kicking it up, grabbing it. "Don't know why I set it down," he said aloud, chuckling. "Okay, so I'm gonna show it to you slowed down, makes it easier to learn. So, you start walking, take a few steps," he started, beginning forward. "Then when you're ready, you lower the board to the ground, step on it with the foot you usually keep on it, and then kick off, riding forward." He demonstrated, stepping on and pushing off with his foot.
-
Nick nodded. “Sounds easy enough.”
-
"So, do you wanna try? Or should I man-splain it for you?" Karl teased, smirking at Nick.
-
“Pfft-“ Nick laughed, covering his mouth and turning around to laugh. “You?? Can man-plain?”
-
"Shut up," Karl laughed, gently hitting Nick's arm. "If you think you can do it, be my guest, dork."
