"No, I would never make fun of you," Karl said sincerely, smiling gently at Nick. "If you're not comfortable with it, I won't force you."
-
Nick raised an eyebrow. “Sureee. Y’know what, f--- it, let’s do it,” He said with a small chuckle, stopping the board with one foot, needing to stop himself from toppling forward.
-
"Alright, if you think you're ready for it," Karl said with a smile, taking a step back. "So, we're gonna start with some drifting, since it'll be a bit easier to learn. It's pretty much just shifting your weight to the left or right, depending on which side you want to drift to."
-
Nick pursed his lips. “Alright.. and you’re sure I won’t die doing that, right?” He said we a grin, chuckling quietly.
-
"Do you trust me?" Karl asked, meeting eyes with his friend and smiled reassuringly.
-
“That’s a loaded question,” Nick said with a giggle. “I mean, as much as you can trust a random dude you met a few days ago at work.”
-
Karl giggled, nodding. "I expected as much," he said, running a hand through his hair. "Alright, I'm gonna go forwards a ways, and I want you to just, try to slowly drift over to me, okay?"
-
“Okay, am I gonna like,” Nick paused for a second. “run up to the board or am I just going to push it with my foot?”
-
"Just stay on it and push, like you've been doing," Karl answered. "If you try and get a running start, you might lose your balance and fall. Happened to me first time I tried." He giggled, crossing his arms. "So just push, and lean to whichever side you want to drift to, either the left or the right."
-
Nick nodded. “Gotcha.” He planted his foot on the board again, waiting for Karl to walk away before pushing himself and placing his other foot on the board. He glanced up one last time before looking down at the board, leaning slightly to the right. It was pretty easy, so Nick figured he could try going to the left too. He did so, hitting a small pothole in the pavement and stumbling off the board. He attempted to catch himself, eventually putting his hands out to catch his fall. He laughed, quickly getting up again to catch the board, which was running away.
-
Karl stifled his laughter, covering his hands with his mouth. "Are- are you okay??" He called out to Nick, giggling.
-
Nick held up a thumbs up as he grabbed the board, standing upright. “I’m good, yeah!” He called back with a laugh.
-
Karl smiled lovingly as he watched Nick for a moment before pausing, clenching his fists. C'mon, Karl, get a grip. Just because he's letting me teach him how to skateboard, doesn't mean he likes me. Yet, he thought wistfully, a small smile appearing on his face again. "You wanna try it again?" Karl asked, walking over to Nick. "Or do you want me to demonstrate for you?"
(karl's love life = my love life, ong :')
i'm so single xD) -
(stoppp 😭 so real)
“Uhh,” Nick blew out a breath, going to adjust his hat, again realizing he didn’t have one on and settling to mess with his hair for a second. “You do it. But don’t make me look too stupid, alright?” -
"Well, I mean, it's hard to do that as such a skilled skateboarder like myself," Karl joked, smirking as he grabbed the board and moved to a flatter looking part of the road. He took a bit of a running start, dropped the board, stepped up on it and started moving, pushing himself forward. He turned around, rolling by Nick as he kicked the board up with his foot, jumping and flipping it and landing back on the board. He turned back around and rolled up beside Nick, hands on his hips. "So, am I cool or what?" He said with an awkward chuckle, rubbing the back of his neck. "Totally not too much of a wimp to attempt any bigger tricks- and totally not because I'll definitely fall on my ass."
