Nick giggled, flushing red and wrapping an arm around Karl’s shoulders. “Yeah, maybe in the future.” He pressed a kiss onto Karl’s head.

maybe when nick goes MIA Karl asks his brothers to go check on him bc he won’t respond to him
and maybe they go get him to go back to work and then he just acts like everything’s normal?

Karl hummed as he walked out of the kennel, scrolling through his phone. He looked up to see Kayden and Elodie stood by the front desk, talking in hushed voices. "Hey, what's up?" He asked, walking over. The girls looked over with worried looks, making Karl panic. "What? Why are you guys making those faces??" "Kayden's being pulled out for an emergency, but we have a few appointments today, so we don't know what to do," Elodie replied, sighing as she leaned against the counter. "I can take care of most of the check-ups, but anything more than that I can't. Mostly because it's not allowed, but also considering I've not gotten that far in my studies." Karl nodded, frowning. "Is there not someone else we could call?" -

Nick had been dealing with the cats and smaller animals, coming out after a second. “Call for what?” -
"Kayden's been called out for an emergency, we have a good few appointments already lined up for today, and we don't have another vet on call," Elodie replied, sighing as she looked over at Nick. "I don't suppose you know a vet who could sub for her today?"
(yeah, it's super cute ^^) -
“Uhh, kind of?” Nick narrowed his eyes. “I know a friend of my moms who worked in her clinic? She lives pretty close, I think. I could call her?”

"Yes, please," Kayden replied, a wave of relief washing over her face. "I tried calling a friend of mine, but they're also very busy at their clinic. And these two aren't allowed to do any of the major vet stuff since they're not licensed yet." "I will be soon~" Elodie replied, smiling. "But right now, you're not. I need help packing, Elodie." The girls walked into the clinic, shutting the door. "Damn, Kayden seems really stressed. Must be some emergency..." Karl said, sighing as he walked behind the desk and sat down.

“Yeah, seriously,” Nick said, pulling out his phone and finding his mom’s friend number. He called it, putting it up to his ear. “Hi, Sharon. I know, I haven’t heard from you in so long. Okay, I’d love to talk, but I kind of need your help? The shelter where I’m volunteering at needs a vet for the day… Yeah. Okay. You’re not busy? Awesome. I’ll send you the adress okay? Alright, thank you so much, bye,” He hung up, moving to sit next to Karl, texting her the adress. “Alright. She’s on her way.”
